Project Manager

A leading engineering company supplying concept solutions to the oil & gas sector has an urgent opportunity for a Project Manager to be based in their offices in the South of England.

Key Responsibilities:


- To run the project in accordance with all internal & customer procedural requirements.
- Production & review of project documentation, ensuring compliance with Customer specification and Code requirements.
- Deliver "design for manufacture", liaising with Operations personnel to review costing and ensure most practical/cost effective method of manufacture.
- Ensure all manufacturing and project documentation is produced / compiled / and submitted to schedule to obtain all required approvals.
- Attend client meetings.
- Risk assessment & management throughout the project.
- Produce data and documentation for project reporting to the customer and company leadership team.
- Issue milestone invoices and control cash receipts against agreed payment terms.


As the primary customer contact, you will need to develop a strong working relationship with their personnel. You will take responsibility for both Customer and Inspection visits, being the main contact with the Certifying Authority and Third Party Inspection agencies. This includes responsibility for gaining design approval.


Person Specification


- You will most likely have an HND or degree within an engineering discipline as well as the relevant working knowledge to understand the requirements of project management.
- A basic understanding of the ASME design code would be an advantage.
- A knowledge of manufacturing, including welding & NDT processes (TIG, MIG, SMAW, dye pen, radiography, UT etc) would be advantageous.
- You will also possess very strong communication skills, enabling you to interact with a range of people both internally across the departments and our international customers.
- Experience of pressure vessel codes and the oil & gas industry would be a distinct advantage, as would awareness of heat exchanger design.


In addition, you will have
- Microsoft Office skills (including MS Project) as well as AutoCAD skills.
- Experience in an engineering role within an ISO 9000 manufacturing environment.
- Ability and willingness to undertake occasional travel within the UK and overseas.
