Are you an experienced Welding manager and looking for a permanent position with a leading company in the UK?


The holder will ideally have the following:

Minimum 10 years of experience in a major materials engineering role in the oil and gas construction environment having had major project responsibility .Experience of directing and managing a broad based team of materials and welding specialists working in the offshore oil and gas construction
environment.Experience in managing a group of team.Pipeline welding experience.Ability to monitor progress on pipeline and offshore projects to identify needs in terms of welding, NDT, corrosion and materials, manage technical activities
of R&D projects and maintain awareness of new technology.Bachelor Degree in Bsc/ BEng/MEng Materials or Corrosion. It
would be an advantage if they are a Chartered Engineer.

The Company:
The Company provides analysis, design and construction management for the transmission, distribution, generation and control of electric energy. Their clients include utility companies, government facilities and industrial companies that seek a connection to a power transmission or distribution network


Your experience:
You will have proven technical capability associated with the design, configuration, manufacture, installation and commissioning of HVDC systems. Ideally you'll have experience in HVDC systems application at transmission voltage levels up to 500kV, gained within a transmission utility, consultancy or manufacturing environment.
If you have an understanding of National Grid technical policy, its suite of technical specifications and supporting documentation then it would be an advantage.
Also, you'll have specific knowledge of HVDC transmission technologies and a good understanding of how these technologies influence the operation and performance of the transmission system
You will have proven ability of working with internal and external parties, eg. equipment suppliers, manufacturers, service providers, professional bodies, and working within a strong team-working culture
An established ability of communicating complex technical or commercial issues to peers or senior managers will be in your skills as well as an ability to work in and lead cross functional teams


Your Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
