Requirements:
* Must be at least 21 years old
* Be able to work closely with adults with disabilities
* Must be comfortable speaking to the public
* Must have excellent communications skills
* Must have a strong work ethic
* Must be computer literate
* Must have a reliable car, a valid California Drivers License, insurance, valid registration, and a good driving record.
* Must be able to pass post offer health physical and TB test, and criminal record clearance.
Compensation:
The Vocational Specialist position offers flexible, part-time hours with base pay starting at $10.00/hour plus mileage reimbursement. Select benefits offered include an EAP and 403b plan, discount cards and a Costco membership.

Teacher Assistant Substitute (Head Start - Santa Clarita - SFV) (Newhall, CA)
Volunteers of America of Greater Los Angeles is a large, national not-for-profit organization founded in 1896. We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans' services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Through our Head Start and Early Head Start programs, we work with children (ages 2 – 5) and their families to provide the skills, confidence and stable home life necessary for a smooth transition into kindergarten and beyond. Head Start positions are generally Monday through Friday, 7:45 am to 4:15 pm (10-1/2 months per year). The Substitute Teacher works on an as-needed basis.
The Head Start Teacher Assistant assists teaching staff in instructing children and stimulating learning. This position assists in planning individual and group activities to stimulate learning according to the ages of the children. The Teacher is performs the following:
