Project Director

My client, through its Australian subsidiary, announced on 31 October 2010 that it had taken a Final Investment Decision to sanction the first phase of the QCLNG Project, consisting of two LNG trains with a combined capacity of 8.5 million tonnes per annum.

My client will do detailed design, procurement and construction work valued at about A$1 billion for the 540 kilometre, 42-inch underground gas pipeline network to transport coal seam gas from QGC's gas fields in the Surat Basin of southern Queensland to a LNG export facility at Curtis Island, near Gladstone. The work includes a marine crossing from the mainland to Curtis Island.

My client has a significant history of JVs globally and will use their respective large diameter pipeline experience and resources to deliver Australia's largest diameter and longest pipeline. Construction started in early 2011 with completion scheduled for mid 2012.

Candidates are required to have:

* University degree preferably in Engineering.
* Project Director level with experience on EPC Projects, but mainly CONSTRUCTION.
* Primarily Contractor's experience.
* Strong experience to lead all Construction Activities and be the Contractor's Representative
* Strong experience to interact with Client on a daily basis.
* Strong negotiating skills with Clients.
* Minimum 20 years' experience in Onshore Construction Pipelines worldwide.
* Preferably with experience in AUTOMATIC welding systems, and AUT.

Salary is negotiable and will depend on the qualifications and experience of each candidate.

KEY PURPOSE
Managing a Fabrication Workshop producing heavy duty equipment for the expanding Oil & Gas market in Southern Iraq

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Supervise and monitor the execution of activities within the piping/structural steel fabrication, to ensure work is carried out according to specifications, within allotted time frame and in full compliance with safety standards.
-Receive and review assignments for short-term work programs, normally of at least 1 week's duration, from engineer or superintendent to ensure complete understanding of requirements.
-Assess manpower and material requirements, based on production norms, and prioritise and allocate tasks to ensure that resources are deployed for maximum effectiveness.
-Provide technical advice and training for the solving of the more complex problems referred by fabrication foremen and to develop their skill level and competence.
-Prepare regular reports on work progress and forecasting for analysis by engineer or superintendent.
-Co-ordinate with other trade disciplines and stores personnel to ensure the integration of work activities and ready availability of materials and consumables.

QUALIFICATIONS
-Proven Qualification related to welding / piping fabrication works.
-Experience in managing fabrication shops.

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE
-Proven managerial skills.
-Well-developed communication, co-ordination and operational planning skills.
- Knowledge of written and spoken English.
-Proven report writing ability
-Well-developed technical knowledge and understanding of execution methodology.

Blend Operator

The candidate will have day to day responsibility for blend production and samples, tanker loading and unloading

-The Blend Operator will report to the Blend Supervisor
-This is a shift role and requirement will be working alternate weeks Monday to Friday on either 05:00 to 13:00 or 12:00 to 20:00
-Plant operators from similar industries can be considered - they must have experience of working in a hazardous environment and understand the correct and safe handling of hazardous goods
-Blend manufacture is in the range from 200-200,000L
-Attention to detail and basic numeracy and literacy are essential, together with a careful and meticulous approach to work
-Ability to meet tight deadlines at short notice
-Ability to interact at all levels of the company and provide clear feedback on progress - good open communication skills are vital

Position Summary (Describe functionality of position)

To produce skid package piping design and fabrication drawings from P&ID and client specification information

Principal duties :
-PFD and P&ID drafting when necessary.
-Vessel internals layouts and detailing
-Production of study skid piping layouts for proposal purposes.
-Development of detail skid package layouts considering all client maintenance and working environment requirements
-Liaison with structural and pipe stressing engineers during development of layouts
-Vessel scantling drawing definition
-Production of piping fabrication isometrics and bills of material
-Structural steel detailing
-Pipe support definition and detailing
-Presentation and justification of completed designs in design review meetings
-Checking vessel and equipment drawings for dimensional accuracy.
-Trouble shooting fabrication problems
-Inspection and as building of completed skid builds
-Development of design software tools

Reports to: Engineering Manager

Required: - AutoCAD 2D experience
Preferred:- Cadworx 3D experience, familiarity with excel, access database, SQL database, 3D design package experience
