Senior Rig Supervisor - Clover Global Solutions LP - Houston, TX

Develop functional specifications and support pre-FEED assessments / FEED activities for fit-for-purpose Arctic rig designs; Potential rig concepts include Gravity Based Structure, Jack-Up, Floaters (Drillship, Axi-Symmetric), and/or modification of existing harsh environment rig(s)

Tasks and Responsibilities:

Interface with Drill Team Leadership and rig contractors / designers during pre-FEED assessments to identify and resolve critical design challenges based on functional specifications
· Develop / assess rig winterization design requirements / features and suitability for given operating environment
· Develop minimum capability and capacity requirements for remote Arctic operations and associated challenges (specifications, critical spares inventory, fluids capacities, etc.; Re-supply limited by distance and metocean)
· Address human factors associated with remote Arctic operations as well as safety of personnel and equipment
· Work with Engineering to identify rig support requirements for active operations (supply vessels, shore base, warship, crew change, mob / demob, etc.)
· Interface with Multi-Functional Team during pre-FEED / FEED activities to ensure resulting design is fit-for-purpose
· Guide rig contractors / designers with layout of drilling systems and integration of key rig equipment to meet operational needs in addition to SSH&E requirements
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
·
A minimum of 10 years operations experience, with 3-5 years in harsh environment floating drilling operations; Prior Arctic experience a benefit
· Competent in deepwater operations and subsea equipment
· Prior rig construction experience preferred (i.e. FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning)
· Proficient in the operating and construction characteristics of all components utilized in the drilling and completion system and be knowledgeable about alternative systems and procedures which might be implemented to improve operational efficiency
· Highly developed communication skills and proficient in typical Microsoft computer based applications
· Prior employment with major deepwater Operator or Drilling Contractor
Read, write and speak fluent English; Russian language skills a benefit
