Trophy of the Week Archive | Cody

It’s that time of year, ladies and gentlemen. The time of year where the calls of migratory birds coming in from overhead is no longer a tease, but is a reason to get your heart pumping. This week’s trophy comes to you from the marshes of Louisiana, from our friend Cody who is an Oilfield Man himself. He and his hunting friends hit the fields in an attempt to hit their limit of specks. The details below are his own words on their opening day experience.

“We loaded our gear onto the 4 wheeler and headed to the blind. We got to the blind, unloaded the bike, and Mr. Craig took off to hide it as me and Jacob put out our decoy spread. Once we finished up, we all got in the blind and checked the time. It was 6 am, and shooting time was in 2 minutes. By the time we got situated and loaded up, it was time. I stood up to look around and heard the sound of my first flock of the season and they were coming towards us. I started calling and had them locked up. After a few passes, the group of about 10 specks was making their last pass over the blind and we cut loose dropping 4. I picked them up and the first bird to hit the dirt of the year had a band on it, and it was claimed by Mr. Craig. As soon as I got back in the blind another group was headed right our way. We worked them right in after just 2 passes and killed 3 out of the small group. That gave us 7 birds, 1 shy of our limit. Before I could get back in the blind, another group was already almost over the us. I hurried and jumped in and started calling. This time, it was a big group of about 20 birds, all calling and cutting up. Once they made that final approach, we turned Mr. E.P. loose to finish off the limit and he dropped one on the first shot. I checked the time and it was 6:13 AM, an 11 minute hunt. We didn’t even have time to enjoy our satsumas during the hunt!”

Congrats to Cody and the rest of the crew! Great Job, and be sure to pack your lucky Oilfield Camo every time! Do YOU have a great story and picture of your Oilfield Camo hunting experience? Send it in, you could win FREE Oilfield Camo Swag!

Trophy of the Week Archive | James

James Scott with Perch

Oilfield Camo is proud to bring products for ALL times of the year. The Oilfield Camo Nation lives the lifestyle YEAR ROUND! This includes those fishermen and anglers who hit the water in their spare time, pursuing the big ones from beneath. Our buddy James Scott is just one of those individuals. James reeled in this great perch, with his lucky Oilfield Camo cap helping him along the way. Following is his account of the catch, straight from the horse’s mouth!

“Perhaps you know, Pennsylvania is the state that produces the finest industrial grade oils. We have plenty of oil workers. It seems like we have wells everywhere ! At this time of the year, perch fishing on Lake Erie is is at it best. We fished the lake, north of Walnut Creek near Erie,Pa. 2 miles off shore in 60 feet of water using minnows and white rigs from Grizzly Gig company. We weren’t catching anything, until I put on my lucky Oilfield Camo Cap… THEN ALL HECK BROKE IT! It took us less than two hours to put a 90 jumbo perch limit in the boat! That perch in the picture is a super jumbo that’s almost as long as a five gallon oil can. We caught them August 23, 2012 at round 6 pm. THANK YOU OILFIELD CAMO! Couldn’t have done it without you. Love your “most unusual” pattern. James L Scott (oil worker retired).”

Many thanks to James! We are proud to be part of YOUR outdoor ritual!

Trophy of the Week Archive | Scott

Scott Bachmeier in Oilfield CamoFor this week’s Trophy of the Week, Team Oilfield Camo has a very special guest appearance. If there is anyone who knows Real, Tough Hunting Apparel, it’s our good buddy Scott Bachmeier. Scott can regularly be found Rockin’ the Bakken up in the Dakota Wilderness. Whether he is tracking pheasant, stalking ‘yotes, or laying down trophy white tails, his gear has GOT to be tough! That’s why Scott made sure to grab his Waterproof Oilfield Camo Jacket before he hit the plains to thin out the nuisance that is the wild coyote population.

When Scott isn’t getting the most out of the great outdoors, he’s hosting his daily outdoor radio program, Dakota Prairie Outdoors Radio. Scott can be heard on K-FYR in the Great Northern Plains, covering everything from the hunting and fishing industry, to real life accounts of his very own hunting trips, Scott is ALWAYS on the cutting edge of not only what’s new, but what WORKS in the outdoor industry.

In addition to being a great region for hunting and wildlife, North Dakota’s Bakken Oil Formation is one of the fastest growing oil producing regions in the United States, outpacing its previous growth with each passing reporting period. The BOOM of the Bakken region has not only helped curb the regions unemployment, a phenomenon felt by a large swath of the country, but also helped to provide North Dakota with more than a BILLION DOLLAR budget SURPLUS! That gives a whole new meaning to Drilling=Jobs!

We would like to thank Scott for testing out the Oilfield Camo line in some of the nations premier hunting grounds!

Trophy of the Week Archive | Shawn

Oilfield Camo recently introduced the brand new Camo Waterproof Jacket and Pants, and our friends in the Oilfield Camo Nation know a good product when they see one! Shawn was quick to snag his waterproof outerwear set and quickly hit the hunt to test out the new product.

Shawn, an avid hunter in Colorado, chose the prong horn as his quarry on this particular trip. Known for their lightning fast speed and exceptional range of vision (a staggering 320 degrees!), the prong horn is not a beast to be pursued by beginners. Shawn, clad in his whisper-quiet Oilfield Camo gear, set his sights on his prey and took the shot. The result was this impressive harvest! This just goes to show, no matter your target, Oilfield Camo has got you covered!

Shawn had the following to say: “Jeff, thanks for the Oilfield Camo Rain Gear, Excellent Product! It’s very comfortable, quiet, and most of all… works well to keep us warm and dry in the snow/rain mix!”

You can be like Shawn and get your very own Oilfield Camo Waterpoof Outerwear by following the link here!

Team OFC Jr. Tests the Waterproof Line

One of the core values for Team Oilfield Camo is centered around family. We believe that bringing our kids closer to the outdoors is of the utmost importance. With that said, Team Oilfield Camo was excited to take out the Junior Team for the last morning of Teal Season here in Southwest Louisiana. The entire crew hit the waters and made their way for the hunting spot, deep in the Atchafalaya Basin. These rich hunting grounds have been a prized spot for hunters for generations, and that morning, we found out exactly why. Within the first hour, the Junior Team hit their limit. You can imagine their excitement!

This hunting trip served as not only a great hunt, but as a chance for the team to test out the All New YOUTH WATERPROOF GEAR! And if these gear can hold up in the unforgiving Atchafalaya Basin, it can hold up anywhere! Now YOU can outfit your young outdoorsmen (and women) in the same Oilfield Camo that YOU wear so proudly! Check out the waterproof line by clicking here!

Trophy of the Week Archive | Andre

This week’s Trophy of the Week is a real holiday celebration, all the way from the DEEP south in Cypremort Point, Louisiana. Meaning “Dead Cypress” in French, Cypremort Point is a demanding hunting terrain, dominated by coastal marshlands. The region is known for not only its recreational camping and fishing, but for its hunting bounty as well. It was of great importance to the Chitimacha Native Americans that called the area home, and even served as one of the great landmarks of their tribal lands.

These rich hunting grounds were the destination of this week’s Trophy Winner, Andre. Visiting family over the Thanksgiving Holiday, Andre is currently a student at Louisiana State University. After enjoying a holiday dinner with his family, he set out to see if there were any deer to be had before nightfall. Andre made the trek and was surprised to have this great buck walk right out in front of him, not long before setting up in his stand. This great trophy was truly a reason for Andre to give thanks during this year’s holiday season.

Great Job Andre! If YOU would like to be featured as this week’s Trophy of the Week, simply send us a picture of you with your harvest, wearing your Oilfield Camo Gear! Just fill out the form below and you could win FREE Oilfield Camo Swag. KEEP DRILLING!!!
