Internship on festival-bound Documentary (Downtown LA)

Our office is located in downtown Los Angeles, and we are flexible about days and hours. Interns who work on this project will receive credit in the documentary based on their respective work. We encourage those looking for college credit to apply (it is necessary to speak to your university first about specific guidelines for credited internships).

Previous experience in production, post- production and transcription are a plus. A basic understanding of Microsoft Word and Excel are a must, and basic knowledge of Final Cut is a plus.

DIESEL ENGINE MECHANIC - HOUSTON, TX - SHOP BASED

Inspect, analyze, test, measure, repair and perform full or partial overhauls on any of the assemblies and sub-assemblies of heavy duty Diesel engines. Perform entire engine disassembly and reassembly (Inframe/Outframe) to restore engine to pristine condition. Ensure that all tools and test equipment are fully serviceable prior to start of repair work and are fully accounted for after each repair. Attention to detail is critical: mechanic must be proactive, meticulous, organized, work independently and take ownership of duties. Additional responsibilities:
Review and discuss work order requirements with foreman. Document/photograph current condition of engine and/or sub-assemblies prior to commencing repairs; Use Original Equipment (OE) or aftermarket engine diagnosis software, inspect engine to troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, injection/control, electromechanical and electronic systems to isolate the subsystems or components that might have caused the problem; Perform all tests and repair in strict compliance with the engine manufacturer's service manual and bulletins; Inspect parts like hoses, belts, pulleys, fuel system, exhaust system, and other possible troublesome items for wear ahead of the engine breakdown or damage; List parts to be replaced referring to manufacturer's manuals and diagrams; Present job hours/cost estimates and parts replacement to foreman for approval; Upon approval of work, perform necessary adjustment, repair, or overhaul; Perform post-overhaul/repair checks for leaks or malfunctions; Document inspections, test results, repair work done and parts replaced for proper billing and record upkeep; and, Keep work area neat and clean. Use personal protective gear and follow shop safety practices as required while working. The successful applicant will possess the following qualifications:
Minimum of 5-7 years of experience diagnosing, repairing and overhauling diesel engines, work independently under limited supervision. Minimum 2-3 years of experience using OE engine diagnosing software (PC). A vocational post secondary graduate of approved certified diesel/natural gas engine repair/technology program or equivalent. Excellent diagnosing and troubleshooting knowledge of diesel engines using electronic diagnostic equipment/software. Excellent diagnosing and troubleshooting knowledge of related mechanical and electrical systems components - turbo, injection, EGR, pumps, alternator, starter, drive train, etc. Excellent knowledge of diesel engine assembly practices, specifications and requirements. Effective analytical skills and the ability to identify the problem quickly. High comprehension skills to understand automotive diagrams and reference manuals. Excellent verbal, reading and writing communication skills. Must understand and always be conscious of safety practices in any procedure. Ability to learn new technology and repair and service procedures and specifications.

Job Description:

• Prior rig construction experience preferred (i.e. FEED, detailed design, construction, commissioning)
• Proficient in the operating and construction characteristics of all components utilized in the drilling and completion system and be knowledgeable about alternative systems and procedures which might be implemented to improve operational efficiency
• Highly developed communication skills and proficient in typical Microsoft computer based applications
• Prior employment with major deepwater Operator or Drilling Contractor
• Read, write and speak fluent English; Russian language skills a benefit

Rig Supervisor - Key Energy Services - Field Operations - Lamesa, TX

We are currently seeking a Rig Supervisor for our Rig Services location in LAMESA, TEXAS.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Overseeing rig operations including the work activities of all rig employees assigned to each rig

Preparing/monitoring work schedule ensuring work is completed on schedule and safety processes and procedures are followed

Monitoring employees’ performance and progress

Providing crew with appropriate tools/supplies

Providing proper guidance and direction to rig crew on specific tasks

Planning and coordinating job procedures with customers, vendors and other contractors

Assuring supplies are adequate and work is carried out according to established specifications

Conducting monthly rig inspections

Preparing required drilling reports, rig operations-related reports and job safety analysis forms

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma, GED or equivalent

15 or more years of oil field related and rig operations experience

Associate’s degree or technical college education with equivalent directly related work experience and 10 or more years of related work experience

Ability to deal and communicate effectively with employees, outside vendors and customers

Proven, extensive working knowledge and experience in rig operations

Thorough knowledge of rig safety regulations and safety issues

Prior supervisory experience
