Proposals Manager

A leading global organisation is actively looking to recruit a proposals manager to support an existing business unit with proposal submissions. The proposal manager will be responsible for commercial projects (including marine, oil and gas, renewables) and for ensuring they are prepared in a professional and timely manner and in line with the business winning process and guidelines.

The proposal manager will be required to review pre-qualification documents, tenders/bids, and proposals. Other responsibilities will include:


Manage formal bid process for live proposals through until completion including handover to the project delivery team.
Engage with clients during bid process, ensuring a clear understanding of the proposal and requirements
Manage the negotiation of acceptable terms and conditions working with the Commercial Management functions of the business and the client
Assess and define technical workscopes, giving advice and guidance (both technical and non-technical) internally to the proposal support team and to the client as necessary
Review business strategies with Senior Management and ensure these are reflected in any responses to the clients
Ensure detailed cost and resource estimates are prepared in line with Operating Policies
Manage and report the business pipeline in line with company processes
Support Business Development Team as required


The successful candidate will have a proven track record in the marine, oil and gas, renewable, or energy sector. They will also demonstrate the ability to work to strict guidelines within a fast paced environment. A track record in estimating, bid management, or proposal management is essential for this role.

The Role:


As an Electrical Design Engineer you will support contracts by ensuring technical requirements are met.


Main duties include:


* Reviewing customers' enquiry specifications and providing technical descriptions, details and man hour estimates to support tendering activities
* Undertaking engineering design studies and calculations
* Approving design changes and variations
* Issuing technical instructions and providing engineering support to workshops
* Technical review of contract specifications and meeting with customers
* Problem assessment and solution route analysis; progressing design modifications
* Appraisal of and modification to internal specifications and standards
* Engineering approval of drawing office documentation to ensure the creation of accurate manufacturing drawings
* Reviewing contract performance and providing forecast commitment in line with project plan


You:


You'll ideally be qualified to HND level (or equivalent) in electrical engineering with electrical engineering design experience. You'll ideally have knowledge of large generator design; be technically competent and computer literate. Membership of a professional institute would be a distinct advantage.

Lean Manufacturing Engineer

My client is renowned worldwide as a leader in the design and manufacture of large scale power generation products. They have received major investment in recent years and are now enjoying sustained and long term growth.

They urgently require 2 Manufacturing Engineers to deliver technical expertise to support production plans and champion continuous improvement in line with the operations strategy.


Key Responsibilities include:


- To conduct design reviews of existing and proposed new products in line with objectives to assure delivery
- Provide support for engineering and other departments to produce cost estimates for new designs, processes and products
- To continuously identify and deliver process improvements in existing processes through the elimination of waste and application of Lean methodologies.
- To contribute technical input to support development of the Operations strategy


To support delivery of the Operations strategy through:
- Proactive support to production, including investigation and resolution of operational problems & concerns.
- Contribution to, and provision of, Standardised Work documentation for all manufacturing processes
- Determination and maintenance of accurate Standard Times for every process required to support the Operations Strategic Plan and Key Performance Indicators
- Carrying out effective Capacity Planning (CvsR) studies, identifying capacity shortfalls & identifying ways to eliminate these.
- Reviewing process layouts & flow charts to ensure the smooth, efficient flow of products & processes
- Carrying out Tooling Studies
- Developing effective CNC Programmes
- Definition of effective routings for all new manufacturing processes


Additionally:
- To Project Manage improvement initiatives to processes, facilities and equipment.
- To identify the most relevant, and where appropriate, up to date equipment and processes to meet current and future requirements and contribute in define the business case to assure provision.
- Definition and planning of process interventions to assure on time delivery
- Contribute to root cause analysis (RCA) investigations, and where appropriate lead the implementation of solutions.


Successful candidates will have experience of delivering and implementing lean methodologies within a manufacturing environment, preferably heavy industry, coupled with a proven track record of applying problem solving techniques including root cause analysis.

KEY OBJECTIVE
17th Edition qualified technician to work for the organisation of a famous military assistance, in support of additional commands and operational expansion. We want to appoint an experienced electrician for their global activities.

The position is based in Afghanistan where you under heavy conditions works. Working conditions rarely involve some physical exertion, exposure to the elements or the dangers inherent in the job. Our customers electricians are responsible for carrying out inspections and maintenance activities in theater.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Inspection and maintenance of electrical installations
-Responsible for compliance with the health and safety at work Act
-The main tasks of the electrician will the enterprise of inspection and maintenance of electrical installations in theater.
-Good knowledge and experience of codes of practice, British & American Standard and good working method.

QUALIFICATIONS
-Business Management called/(Diploma, degree)
-Medical qualifications at least SRN/SEN/paramedic level

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE
-The electrician should be of a technical status and 3 years relevant post qualification experience.
-Technical-defined as holding ONC, HNC or equivalent or higher qualifications in an appropriate discipline along with relevant experience.
