Planning Engineer - Calgary, Alberta

We are currently seeking experienced Planning Engineers to deliver and maintain standard, consistent and realistic project plans reflecting the assessed risk parameters for a number of our client's projects. Working closely with one of the world Oil and Gas Majors are a seeking dynamic and motivated professionals looking to make there mark in our rapidly growing Canadian and International business.

Responsibilities

§ Support the delivery and maintenance of consistent and realistic plans and control structures for the project.

§ Understand and monitor the interfaces between assigned project sub-elements and other sub-elements.

§ Develop the activities, logic, resources and progress for the assigned project sub-elements.

§ Comply with the planning and progress monitoring procedures.

§ Conduct the schedule monthly progress update, forecast, critical path and trend analyses for assigned elements, including any impact from interface areas.

§ Provide input to the status reports and ensure that these include the incorporation of approved changes.

§ Liaise with project engineering personnel to assist proper understanding of the key schedule sensitivities and drivers.

§ ­Assist with identification of alternate approaches to optimise the plan(s).

§ Know the contract key dates, milestones and plan dates and how they relate to the overall project schedule.

§ Understand the requirements of the contract sections for planning and progress reporting.

§ Review and verify contractors reported progress and incorporate into schedule progress updates.

§ Maintain awareness of critical and sub-critical paths and track float consumption.

§ Utilise the standard tools and processes.

§ Assist in the preparation of input data for benchmarking activities.

Skills / Experience Required

Engineering Degree and/or Certification as a Planning Engineer or equivalent experience.
Demonstrate some industry experience in planning positions.
Good written and oral communications.
Good working knowledge of Planning principles and techniques and Primavera P6.
4-6 Years Experience in Oil and Gas
Must be eligible to work in Canada.

Construction Manager / Engineer

We are currently recruiting for a Construction Manager / Engineer to join our clients team based in the Central belt of Scotland for an expansion phase of projects to a large pharmaceutical site. The ideal candidate will hold an IOSH or NEBOSH as well as having experience within the construction of petrochemical, chemical or pharmaceutical sites.

Accountability:

Ensuring the planning, management and implementation of all construction activities match GSK requirements with respect to safety, security, contractor logistics, construction related GMP, timescale and to act as the interface between all contractors and GSK operations. Management of fixed price work. The Construction Engineer will retain responsibility for managing construction activities and for ensuring quality and adherence within scope for the Hydroxy Acid Project. Associated HA stores, from delivery on site to issuing from HA stores. All safety KPI's to GSK requirements and required reporting procedures.

Responsibilities:
Ensure construction activities comply with local and GSK standards.
Communicate with GSK project managers, team members and the contractors.
To oversee and monitor the construction activities associated with all Projects and facility work.
Liaise with GSK departments, including but not limited to; maintenance, manufacturing, production operations, facility operations, EHS and security to ensure minimum disruption to operations.
Manage the contractor's compound for HA requirements, cabins facilities and housekeeping.
Take active role in the contractors compound management team.
Implementation and management of the Construction Safety Plan and the Traffic Management Plan updating as the project progress and changes.
To ensure that a comprehensive Safety Plan is prepared by the contractor for each project and is updated, to coordinate each Project construction activity with GSK operations. Ensure the applications of RAMS (Risk Assessments and Method Statements) are embedded in day to day construction activities.
Manage the HA construction stores - from delivery of equipment to site, both GSK and Doosan orders, inspect and report any damage on arrival to project team representative.
Issue from HA stores to construction team
Ensure issued goods are treated with respect and protected against damage.
Manage GRN, documentation and manuals issue back to project team.
All relevant PTW's are in place and in use.
To ensure that construction issues are addressed through all phases of the project life cycle.
To ensure that the project delivers all statutory and regulatory requirements in the construction arena and complies with all relevant local, GSK, EHS and GMP guidelines and standards.

To build on the current capabilities of our Canadian based team we are currently seeking experienced Quantity Surveyors for works across various projects including a major developments in the region with our Industry leading clients.

Quantity Surveyor - Calgary, Alberta

Responsibilities

To provide a site-based (if assigned to a project site) quantity surveying function to support the goals of the CP or Commercial Team in the administration of the subcontracts through construction to completion and close-out of the contract.

You would play a key role in a major Debottle-necking oil-sands project, coordinating and managing the costs from the early design plans through to the completion of construction.
Your priorities would be to ensure accurate progress measurement, client/contractor reporting, estimate quantities and accurate MTO's.

Main responsibilities would be:

Carrying out feasibility studies to estimate materials, time and labour costs, bills of quantities, value engineering, valuing completed work
Monitoring each stage of construction to make sure that costs are in line with forecasts
Providing financial and physical progress reports

Skills / Experience Required

§ A solid working history as a Quantity Surveyor, engineering degree, engineering higher certificate or equivalent. Demonstrate reasonable contract management experience within the oil and gas industry.

Cost Estimator - Houston, Texas

Responsibilities

The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

· Methodologies and tools for Cost Estimates- Utilise cost methodologies and tools to produce cost estimates. Incorporate project complexity factors into project estimates and assemble key input data such as project objectives, scope and economic analysis. Formulate and validate methodologies for deriving quantities from design parameters. Perform uncertainty analysis and sensitivities on cost estimates, reflecting analysis of project risks. Manage reviews and audits of cost estimates. Benchmark against historical performance, industry norms and established KPIs.

· Assess prospect scope and main components to develop consistent "building block" estimates (Type-2) for each concept under consideration. Utilise Technical, Economical, Commercial, Organisational & Political (TECOP) profile to establish appropriate deterministic cost contingency.

· Translate the identified project scope and engineering deliverables into the estimate of capital expenditure costs for design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and start-up of the hardware elements (Type-3). Estimate composed of detailed MTOs matched with detailed pricing and construction unit hours. Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances.

· Development of detailed project cost estimate (Type-4). Incorporation of project actuals to date and detailed MTOs matched with detailed pricing and construction unit hours for to-go costs.

· Develop Estimate Basis to document how estimate was developed.

Manage Estimating Data- Establish process to collect actual cost performance, condition and normalise data for future use, develop metrics and benchmarking information.

Skills / Experience Required

Engineering Degree and/or Certification as a Cost Estimator or equivalent experience
Minimum 8 years industry experience in estimating positions.
Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
Fully versed with Cost Estimating Tools
Candidate MUST have the right to work in the US with this role a 5/2 week in Houston.

They urgently require a Document Controller to join their team in Aberdeen. The position is to analyse, organise and manage Document Management processes and activities, controlling and monitoring related tasks, thus assuring Corporate methodology and procedures maintenance and compliance across the group. Interface with other project team members about document management matters, ensuring knowledge transfer and the preservation of Document Management matters across the group.

Responsibilities:
• Ensure proper document control support is given to each project delegated by the Document Control Supervisor.
• Operate the Document Control Procedures in line with the Company’s Integrated Management System.
• Prepare and update Document Control Procedures in line with the Company’s Integrated Management System.
• Generate and maintain each project MDR (Master Document Registration) ensuring daily update.
• Produce and maintain Document Progress Reports to Project Managers.
• Work in strict co-operation with the Planning Engineer to ensure project progress status integration.
• Ensure all documentation provided is as per Client quality requirements.
• Create Document Control and correspondence folders for individual projects.
• Register all incoming project documents.
• Issue Document Review Register with document details and distribute with document for review.
• Issue all DCNs (Document Change Numbers).
• Liaise with the Drawing Office to ensure all drawings are printed, stamped, copied and filed.
• Receive, stamp and file all Engineering Change Notice Forms form the Drawing Office.
• Maintain FTP site for assigned project documentation – uploading and downloading documents / drawings.
• Register all incoming project drawings.
• Ensure all documents and drawings are provided with transmittals where appropriate.
• Ensure all templates used with the department conform to the Company standard.
• Ad hoc duties as required to assist the project team.
• Conduct all activities within the Integrated Management System Policy, Procedures and Work Instructions.

Our client, a large subsea and pipelines contractor are searching for a Lead Subsea Controls Engineer to join their team in Staines.

The requirement is for a Lead Subsea Controls Engineer who will work in the team as part of the overal Integrated Group on one of our major offshore and subsea design projects.

The job will be located in our London (Staines) office.

Roles & Responsibilities

The Engineer will be working within an active project team and would be required to take a senior role within the existing engineering Team.

The role will include:

-Preparation of preliminary equipment functional specifications.
-Preparation of technical notes reports and decision papers
-Ensuring compliance with project philosophies and operability requirements
-Development of testing, commissioning and installation strategies.
-Interfacing with client engineering team.
-Assist in reliability assessments
?Provide support to the preparation of ITT documentation.
-Liaise with vendor on behalf of client during procurement, manufacture and testing phases.

Experience Required

An engineer with experience in offshore Oil and Gas, preferably degree qualified and chartered with experience of the following:
