Reporting to the Subsea Section Leader, the Subsea Engineer is accountable for supervising the installation and monitoring of BOP operations. Ocean Rig's (OR) current rigs are equipped with Cameron Type TL-18 3/4" 15,000 psi BOP, which is controlled by a Cameron (Mark 1) Multiplex BOP control system. New-builds currently in production will be equipped with Shaffer 18 3/4'' Extended Triple NXT BOP, 15,000psi, H2S service, guideline-less re-entry system. Main Responsibilities:
To operate and maintain all subsea related equipment, including riser tensioner's Carry out regular BOP tests and drilling in accordance with company policy and safety procedures Provide expertise on technology, cost estimation and risk, installation and support services including rig interface To understand, implement and promote all relevant work and safety procedures issued by Ocean Rig and the Operator Ensure the efficient delivery of services and communication with OR colleagues and client representatives Required Experience: Applicants must be qualified and have experience from offshore drilling operations on DP Semi-Submersibles or Drill Ships. As a global organisation and to ensure a safe working environment, it is essential that all applicants have a strong level of English, both written and oral. New Computer Attacks Traced to Iran, Officials Say
SAN FRANCISCO — American officials and corporate security experts examining a new wave of potentially destructive computer attacks striking American corporations, especially energy firms, say they have tracked the attacks back to Iran.
The targets have included several American oil, gas and electricity companies, which government officials have refused to identify. The goal is not espionage, they say, but sabotage. Government officials describe the attacks as probes looking for ways to seize control of critical processing systems.

Oil ends week down 2 percent on tepid demand outlook
(Photo: Julien Tromeur, Flickr)NEW YORK — The price of oil fell 2 percent this week, as oil traders worried about global demand and shared the stock market’s concerns about possible changes to the Federal Reserve economic stimulus program.
The loss Friday was just 10 cents, to $94.15 a barrel. But four straight losses resulted in a weekly decline of $1.87 a barrel for the benchmark oil contract.
The global economic picture was clouded by weak manufacturing data from China. That raised questions about the strength of oil demand in the world’s No. 2 economy. In the U.S., a report from the Energy Department showed the country is well-supplied with oil, and gasoline demand remains below year-ago levels.
One question overhanging the market is what the Federal Reserve’s next moves will be with its monetary policy. Recent comments from Fed policy makers, including Chairman Ben Bernanke, raised concerns that the Fed will scale back its effort to support the economy sooner than traders had expected.
The uncertainty led U.S. stock markets to their first weekly loss in a month. Oil tracked stocks for most of the week, as oil traders looked to their equities counterparts for clues on how to react to the Fed.
In Houston Friday, the average price for gasoline at the pump was $3.421 a gallon, according to AAA. It was $3.426 Thursday.
Brent crude, a benchmark for many international oil varieties, rose 20 cents to $102.64 a barrel on the ICE Futures exchange in London.
In other energy futures trading on Nymex:
— Wholesale gasoline rose 1 cent to $2.84 a gallon.
— Heating oil was flat at $2.86 a gallon.
— Natural gas fell 2 cents to $4.24 per 1,000 cubic feet.
