Our company is growing at a fast rate so we are in need of credentialed tutors to add to our extraordinary team of tutors.
POSITION SUMMARY: Experienced Physics tutor who has over 60 units in Engineering or like majors and/or credentialed Science/Mathematics teacher who is proficient in Physics.
CURRENT JOB: 11th grade student who is taking an advanced Physics course at a community college. Student is an A student who is falling behind and needs additional assistance with homework and studying concepts.
**We are always seeking K-8 tutors (Multiple Subject Credential) and 9-12 tutors (Single Subject Credential) to teach English, Advanced Math, Chemistry and Language. Furthermore, we accept tutors who have at least 60 units in a single subject area (ex. Math, English, Science, History etc.) for in-home one-on-one tutoring services.
START DATE: ASAP (preferably next week).
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE DESIRED:
- Must posses minimum of BA or BS AND hold a teaching credential or currently enrolled in a credential program or Majored in the subject area (ex. Math, English, Science, Engineer etc.)
- Minimum of two year of related tutorial or teaching experience
- Familiar with or willing to learn the CA Content Standards for the grade you tutor
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent analytical and organizational skills
- Knowledgeable in the use of a standard computer & programs
AVAILABILITY & PROFESSIONALISM:
-Must be able to work part-time between the hours of 3 pm - 8 pm Monday - Friday (at least 2 days out of the week)
-Must have reliable transportation
-Must have a professional demeanor
-Must be punctual (late sessions are not tolerated)
-Must have a passion for teaching and mentoring young students
-Must be able to commute within a 20 mile radius from Long Beach
COMPENSATION:
Tutors will be paid between $16 - $25 per hour.
