Seeking a Territory Sales Manager
Our small and fast growing retail spice company headquartered in Northern California seeks a Territory Sales Manager (a mid-entry level position).
The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Outside Sales Director for the region and area. The Morton & Bassett Territory Manager assumes responsibility for M&B store level product sales and support. Morton & Bassett Area Manager's role with accounts will vary depending upon the needs of the company and customers and may span across a multi-state area.
In addition to managing and developing our existing retailer base, the Territory Manager will be expected to prospect and open up new and high potential customers utilizing their professional selling skills and business relationships. This will involve store-to-store selling, where the Territory Manager will seek out both independent retailers and chain grocery stores for new distribution opportunities. Our company relies heavily upon being able to sell 'quality' as opposed to 'price'. In addition, the Territory Manager will "set" stores with spice displays and perform store checks, among other duties.
Overall, the successful Territory Manager must have a passion for our products. Hey, if you don't have that, you likely won't be successful at getting new stores. You must also possess the ability to effectively present the best quality spices, herbs and extracts available in grocery today (that would be Morton & Bassett Spices!), and ultimately, success is measured by the ability to close the sale. Important to all this is one's experience with multiple grocery channels -- including brokers, distributors, retailers, among others.
Last but certainly not least; the successful candidate must be able to work within our team atmosphere. There is nobody working in a vacuum around here! We're all involved. Additionally, one may be called to help another co-worker in a different area, territory or region. This is a mid-entry level position.
