The Background
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Control & Instrumentation Team Leader to work for a global leading Oil and Gas business. As a Control & Instrumentation Team Leader you'll provide day to day control and instrumentation engineering support to offshore production operations. Managing a team of 5 reports you'll co-ordinate activities to any control & instrumentation maintenance issues.


The Role
As the Control and Instrumentation Team Leader you'll provide an input into existing and new assets ensuring that the company is operational, certification and verification requirements are complied with. You'll also co-ordinate and direct the maintenance team effort for input into tenders and monitoring of contracts, budgets and budgetary control. Additionally you'll carry out risk assessments, operational safety cases and will provide operational direction to onshore staff and offshore management.


You
Ideally you'll be educated to a degree level within a relevant discipline or you'll have the equivalent experience within a Control and Instrumentation field. Ideally you'll be a chartered engineer and will have experience of leading a team within the C & I field.

Port Engineer - AHTS Vessels

The client, a leading operator of a major OSV fleet, now need an experienced Port Engineer to join their team in Tanajib, Saudi Arabia. The main purpose of the role is to attend all vessels during port calls, ensuring proper allocation of available resources to complete all technical work lists. Key accountabilities are: Technical Functions: - The Operation, administration and supervision of the workshop personnel. Ensuring the timely correction of Electrical / Mechanical defects reported by all vessels. Responsible for the performance of all instrumentation and automation on the vessels in conjunction with vessel staff. Checking fuel sounding on vessels and ensuring that it is correctly reported by the vessel. Security and maintenance of the Workshop area and equipment used on the jetty. Ensure the requirements of the Company Planned Maintenance System are complied with on the vessels. Rectification of any recommendations and or deficiencies as a result of the above surveys within the given time frame. Should be prepared to go on board to fault find and rectify defects if necessary. Candidates MUST have an Unlimited Chief Engineers License with a minimum of three years shore experience as a Port Engineer mobilising Offshore Support Vessels. Candidates Must be fluent communicators in Arabic/English. Only Indian OR Saudi nationals required for this position.

Contracts Manager (Shipyard / Fabrication / FPSO)

Our client is a UK firm of claims and contracts consultants providing people for projects worldwide. They now have an urgent requirement for an experienced and well qualified Contracts Manager for an oil and gas related project based in South Korea. The initial period will be for 6 months however this is likely to be extended to a period of 18 months or more. You will be responsible for doing change orders for this lump sum contract, agreeing scope of variations etc. You should have good experience of Contracts Management for oil and gas related projects in particular with experience of fabrication / shipyards in particular where the client is doing the fabrication of FPSO's.You will need to have an HNC or Degree in Engineering / Quantity Surveying or equivalent and you will most likely have been trained and have worked in the United Kingdom, Australia or New Zealand. You will be provided with accommodation, flights etc. and the leave is likely to be 3 months on, 2 weeks off but is slightly negotiable. You will be paid on a daily rate which is also negotiable.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a leading oil and gas operator in their Aberdeen office. As an Instrumentation and Control Engineer you would be required to provide day to day operational support and Instrument engineering expertise to the company's North Sea Assets.


Duties and responsibilities include:
*Undertake day to day Instrument operational support.
*Provide best practise solutions and carry out control system investigations when required (DCS/SCADA/PLC/F&G/ESD etc)
*Provide detailed input into Facilities instrument related projects
*Provide Instrument engineering support for offshore operations.
*Ensure that all activities are carried out in a safe and efficient manner to comply with statutory and Company requirements.
*Develop & control Instrument maintenance budget
*Input into facilities & upgrade budgets
*Manage obsolescence issues with facilities and vendors in a timely and cost effective manner
*Provide operations engineering input into operational certification and verification activities.
*Review planned maintenance activities and procedures and closely monitor instrument maintenance backlog
*Manage subcontract activity within the instrument & control remit
*Interface with certifying authorities on Assurance maintenance matters
*Interface with suppliers, vendors and subcontractors where required
*Detailed analysis and reporting of SCE activities.
*Assist Project team when needed


The ideal candidate will be degree qualified (or equivalent) in a related engineering discipline, with experience in a similar position. Commercial and financial awareness, as well as knowledge of project management, planning and scheduling would be beneficial, along with knowledge of Safety, Health and Environmental Management and Systems.

Project Controls Sheduler

Our client, a firm of consultants with experience in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical sectors, has long term contracts to provide skilled Project Services and Contracts and Procurement Professionals globally to major International Oil Companies. They now seek a Project Controls / Construction Scheduler (with experience in the oil and gas industry) to work in Houston, Texas.
Responsibilities:- Coordinate assigned day to day activities and manage scheduling work load with contractors. Build CPM, logically driven construction schedules at various stages of the project life cycle. Specific emphasis is placed on Final Investment Decision (FID) and Issued For Construction (IFC) schedules. Analyze schedule logic, activity durations, constraints, float, resource loading, etc. Review critical path(s). Level resources as needed to support project constraints. The ability to link detailed engineering and construction schedules with Shell activities to build a complete integrated project schedule. Provide assurance on schedules submitted by contractors according to the Shell project guidelines. The ability to use prior project knowledge to build conceptual schedules is preferred. The ability to develop a schedule risk analysis component of the schedule assurance process. Participate in the interactive planning meetings for projects requesting final investment funding as part of the assurance activity. Understand and use the IPA scheduling metric tool to improve schedule predictability. Incorporate IPA recommendations regarding scheduling into current scheduling process. Help develop, maintain, and revise scheduling templates that incorporate all project phases. Help collect and report scheduling information quarterly to support development of the KPI stoplight charts. Perform analysis to track deltas between planned and actual dates and durations. Create a statistical understanding of planned data versus actual outcomes. Assist in progressing construction schedules in accordance with the approved progress measurement strategy.
Skills / Experience Required:- 5+ years working as a scheduling professional, a comprehensive understanding of construction techniques and practices, experience working in an operating facility, experience working with construction contractors, understanding of proven scheduling techniques and practices, Experience in earned value management and the ability to audit / validate construction progress, Basic understanding of Project Controls, Good people / networking skills. Rate (or salary if preferred) is very negotiable.
