Technologist Production / Drilling Operations

Objectives of the job


Implement technologies to expand Client’s expertise in drilling and production operations. This is in line with the company's long term technology strategy. Our target is to improve technology skills, thereby strengthening our competitive position as preferred E&P partner for world wide E&P activities.


The incumbent will take an active role in pushing optimized technologies into the organization. This will require intense cooperation with Clients subsidiary ( a chemical manufacturer and Clients operating and new business units, and service industry.


Main duties and responsibilities


Prepare, promote and support deployment of new, optimized technologies in the area of production operations, fraccing, work over/drilling activities, and other comparable production and drilling technologies, in particular related to EOR.Prepare proper cost, time and resource planning for proposed activities.Execute new technology projects in project manager function.Liaise effectively with functional departments, R&D department and operating units to ensure appropriate staffing and activity levels.Provide advice to New Business Unit in the evaluation and possible acquisition of assets with potential for optimized technology development.Assist in communication of progress made with technology deployment to management and company staff.Adhere to company policies and procedures, in particular where HSE and project approval processes are concerned.Administration/support to corporate Technology Plan


Education


Internationally recognized university education in Engineering


Key skills


Expert in one or more and competent in the following skill areas:Project Management (time/resource planning, decision-based work planning, etc.)Production and drilling OperationsAdequate Reservoir Management (production/recovery optimization, field development, etc.)Asset Management (interdisciplinary business approach, petroleum contracts, etc.)Production Engineering (separation technology, production measurement, etc.)


Knowledge Requirements


Good understanding in production/operations related issues.Good understanding of E&P economics.Good understanding of project management tools and techniques.


Personal Qualifications


Leadership: Display vision, creativity, pragmatism and results-focus to move team and organization into novel business areasTechnology Deployment: Good affinity with technology developmentsHSE responsibility: Takes responsibility for HSE issues associated within his/her working area


Additional requirements


Fluent English, written and spoken. Preferably German language skills, or the willingness to learn German.


Experience


Experience in E&P business or related jobs (>3 years).

The Background
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Drilling Engineer to work for a global leading Oil and Gas company. As a Drilling Engineer you'll be responsible for the planning, program preparation and execution of drilling operations within the wells team.


The Role
As the Drilling Engineer, you'll be accountable for operational support on new and existing wells. With a strong commitment to health, safety, security and environmental factors you will take responsibility for planning and executing drilling well designs for oil or gas wells. You'll ensure drilling programs, program amendments and dispensations are risk assessed and will prepare cost estimates for wells activities. Additionally, you'll prepare end of well reports and conduct engineering studies to improve drilling operational performance.


You
Ideally you'll be educated to a degree or HND level within a relevant discipline or you'll have the equivalent relevant experience within an Engineering role. You'll have enjoyed previous success in a Drilling Engineer role and demonstrated competence in well design for drilling activities. You'll have knowledge of pore pressure and fracture gradient prediction and you'll have had experience of working with third party providers. You'll be competent with landmark well engineering software packages such as DMIS/Openwells, Wellplan and will have previous experience of drilling for an operator. You'll ideally have an IWCF Well Control certificate and experience with HPHT wells.

The Background
This is a fantastic opportunity for a Drilling Supervisor / Well Site Leader to work for a global leading Oil and Gas company. Drilling Supervisors act as a pivotal role in leading all activity, HSE, operations and logistics at the well site.


The Role
As the Drilling Supervisor, you'll be accountable for supervising offshore / onshore drilling, completion and workover operations at rig sites. Whilst the majority of the work will be offshore at the rig site, some time may also be required to undertake operations planning and reviews. You'll ensure that all well site drilling and completions activities are carried out in compliance with company practices along with appropriate legislative requirements. Additionally you'll drive continuous improvements through and will coach individuals to enhance their contributions to performance. You'll also monitor all wells personnel and materials movements to ensure that there are no delays.

Supervisor

Supervisor - site-based
KEY PURPOSE
Our client, a leader in the power generation and energy sector, is currently seeking to recruit a number of Supervisors to join their team on a contract basis, based on-site in the South of England.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
The Supervisors will be expected to safely and effectively manage the labour and resources allocated to execute a section of the contract scope of work in accordance with the pre-defined programme, quality standards and contract specifications and ensure that they comply with Company, Client and Contractual requirements.


QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid CCNSG Safety Passport (required)
- ECITB SMTDS module or NVQ 3 or 4 (preferable)


EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE
Candidates need to possess significant and appropriate experience in Mechanical and Process Industry sector along with three years advanced craftsman status in a supervisory discipline and 1 year chargehand experience.


SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- Knowledge and understanding of the legal, practical and company safety requirements.
- The ability to execute work in his section to the level of productivity required under the contract.
- Knowledge of the technical requirements associated with their specific discipline.
- Knowledge and effective application of company and client quality procedures.
- The ability to effectively manage and resolve first line industrial and employee relation issues.
- An awareness of related contract issues such as;
- Commercial/Financial status
- IT
- Planning systems and application

Job Summary:
Under moderate direction, applies engineering skills to provide innovative and cost effective design and development solutions requiring the development of new or improved techniques, procedures, or products. Duties:
- Assists to develop and commercialise products.

Education/Qualifications/Skills:
- BS in Engineering or Sciences
- MS in Engineering or Sciences


Experience:
- Evidence of practical experience in the relevant discipline gained through academic studies or work experience.
- Evidence of genuine interest in chosen field, outside of university studies.
- Computer Skills/ Computer Programming
- Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills
- Product Development Skills, including design.
