The suitable candidate will be a member of a startup team developing an ultrasonic medical technology for women's health. Key responsibility will be to participate in the design, development, prototyping, and integration of the technology into a strategic partner's clinical platform. Familiarity with embedded signal processing applications and ultrasound systems architecture will benefit the product development and integration activities. HDL and FPGA experience a plus. Laboratory development is conducted in a LabView data acquisition and control environment with algorithm development proceeding in parallel using Matlab & Python. Prototype and clinical implementations will be based upon partner(s) custom hardware architectures and API. Background in Electrical Engineering or Physics with experience in acoustics, ultrasound, and/or medical device development is highly desirable. As a member of a small team, the candidate will have the opportunity to be part of all facets of the development process including planning, algorithm design, integration strategy, software and firmware implementation, and the ultimate deployment of the solution. The candidate will report directly to the VP of Product Development.
Qualifications (M-Must, P-Preferred):
? (M) Excellent handling of English understanding, reading, writing and speaking skills;
? (M) Signal and image processing experience;
? (M) Minimum 10 years of proven experience in product development/project management;
? (M) Familiarity with medical/industrial ultrasound technologies, acoustics, or RF field theory;
? (M) Analog/RF design experience;
? (M) Digital design and embedded systems experience;
? (M) Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a closely related field;
? (M) Excellent time-management skills
? (P) Background in ultrasound/medical product development;
? (P) Clinical laboratory experience;
? (P) Knowledge of breast cancer and medical terms;
? (P) Masters/PhD.
Responsibilities:
? Systems integration, hardware interfacing;
? Implementation of a developed ultrasound technology as a clinical prototype and ultimate transfer to an embedded clinical platform;
? Development of a prototype implementation strategy leveraging off-the-shelf and OEM modules for preclinical testing;
? Development of a commercial implementation strategy in conjunction with a strategic partner.
