Summary
The Floorhand performs the duties of general manual labor on the rig and supports and assists other members of the drilling crew during all rig operations.

Specific Responsibilities
Works in a safe, healthy, and environmentally protective manner Assists Driller, Derrickhand, & Motorhand, while rigging-up, nippling-up, tearing out, & rig maintenance while drilling Knows how to operate iron roughneck during connections Works with tubular, e.g. rolling, lifting, connecting Prepares floor before trip, connections and surveys Works the rig floor during drilling and tripping operations, as needed Carries out housekeeping tasks around rig and lease such as washing and painting, either on own initiative or as assigned Catches samples, digs and cleans ditches, shovels shale Handles and measures tubular goods under the direction of the Motorhand Reports and corrects any unsafe work practices and safety hazards Assists & performs tasks as instructed by Motorhand & Derrickhand in such duties as rig servicing and mixing mud Participates in all safety programs, processes and requirements Works as a team member with the rest of the rig crew, at a high level of efficiency during trips & other team efforts Attends Operations Training up to two times per year and up to five days per training at designated locations
Works occasionally in the yard, shop, or office
Qualifications
Qualifications
If hired, you will be required to:
be at least 18 years of age
pass a post-offer physical examination, fitness testing, safety and aptitude tests, drug tests & background check
provide proof of your eligibility to work in the United States
arrange for reliable transportation to and from work and training locations
speak and read English well enough to understand verbal and written safety postings, alerts and announcements, communicate with co-workers and be able to participate in job safety analysis meetings
