Summary:
Velocity Networks, a growing technology company that provides business Broadband and VoIP services, is looking to hire a Tier 2-3 VoIP Support engineer who will be responsible for assisting internal and external customers in system diagnostics and resolution of technical problems, system outages and maintenance. There will be an emphasis on VoIP technology and networks with a need for strong customer service skills, technical aptitude and troubleshooting skills. This position requires knowledge of telecommunications, BroadSoft, SIP Trunking, as well as a working knowledge of core TCP/IP networking and VoIP technology exposure; including SIP and BroadSoft. Excellent Customer Service and telephone skills, etiquette, and written communication skills are a must.

Position is Full Time -- work time slot to be determined based on Company need, between 0600-2300 PST M-F. On call pager rotatoin is a requirement of the position.

Job Responsibilities:
Communicating with customers, vendors, partners, and Telco carriers.
Ability to create, implement, and follow through solutions to customer problems, to resolution.
Support customers at all levels to create an environment of excellent customer service.
Work with other departments and customers as part of the provisioning process.
Installation and documentation of new and upgraded services.
Must possess a sense of urgency when dealing with events affecting user down-time.
Monitoring and tracking of system functionality.
Mentoring and Documentation as required.
Assume ownership and follow-through of escalated trouble tickets and issues.

Skills:
Knowledge of Telecom layer 2 technologies with expertise in WAN/ETHERNET networking.
Strong knowledge of IP networking technologies including routers, switches, VPN, and firewalls. (Cisco, Juniper, Adtran, Edgewater, etc)
Knowledge of VOIP technology in a SIP trunking and Hosted VOIP environment. (Sonus, Broadsoft, Polycom, Cisco, etc)

Education and Experience:
Requires either an Associate's Degree with emphasis in a computer related field or 1+ year of equivalent skill, knowledge and experience.
Requires strong organizational and analytical skills, including the ability to meet deadlines, work in a team environment and follow written and verbal policies, procedures and processes.
Knowledge of VoIP, BroadSoft, SIP, TCP/IP, DNS and Mail required.
