Serving 430 girls Grades 6-12, Archer creates joyful and ambitious learning in an environment that combines a 21st-century approach to pedagogy, technology, and social issues with the latest research on how girls learn best.

We are seeking enthusiastic candidates with experience in design, engineering, and computer science to join us in creating a new lab, envisioning new courses, and shaping compelling projects that will occur in this space. Our goal is to engage students with design thinking and engineering opportunities that integrate academic disciplines, promote design principles and offer hands-on opportunities to integrate expressive technologies (electronics, wearable tech, woodworking, etc.) into students' academic and personal lives.

The ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications:
? Degree in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics, or a related field and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.
? Experience as an engineer, inventor, or researcher in the industry or academia.
? Demonstrated teaching skills in a project-based learning environment.
? Ability to clearly articulate learning objectives, create new teaching materials, and design curriculum.
? Demonstrated knowledge of programming and computer science.
? A passion for and demonstrable skills in the "making and tinkering" movement, from hand tools to computer-mediated tools such as 3D printers, laser cutters, and micro-lathes.
? Demonstrated knowledge of or proficiency in engineering education.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
? Design and teach one or two sections of an engineering class to middle and upper school students.
? Mentor students in the Honors Science Research program who are pursuing engineering projects.
? Design a versatile lab space and develop a plan for the acquisition of equipment, technology, and materials.
? Create an integrated scope and sequence that incorporates principles of design, engineering, and computer science into the current core math and science curriculum.
? Promote the program in Archer's publications and websites.
? Establish connections within the professional and educational design and engineering community.
