Position Summary:
Reporting to the Operator, the Derrick Hand is responsible for supporting the Rig Operations by performing derrick operations, rig pump, tank and maintenance issues.

Responsibilities:
The core areas of accountability include but are not limited to:

Primary Responsibilities:
Performs all duties above the floor, operates the pump and tank, work on the catwalk when moving pipe on or off the ground.

Actively participates in rig inspections, preventative maintenance of fluid systems, derrick and associated equipment.

Participates actively in safety meetings and drills (i.e. Man Down, BOP, Hi Angle Rescue)

Supports & participates in Hazard Identification Program

Participates in Job Safety Analysis Development

Assists Operator & Rig Manager in Floor Hand Development and Orientation through positive leadership and mentoring.

Reports all events and incidents to immediate supervisor and help in overall solutions to problems.

Identifies Safety Issues and problems, takes corrective action and follows through. Understand the Duty to Refuse Unsafe Work.

Deals effectively with others in a conflict situation using appropriate interpersonal styles and methods to reduce tension or conflict between parties.

Communicates to all personnel Mission Statement, Statement of Values, Code of Conduct, Leadership Guide and Objectives

Actively participates in team meetings and activities toward the completion of goals.

Promotes and assists with keeping worksite and maintenance operations clean and in good working order under the direction of Rig Manager &/or Operator.

Working Conditions:
Derrickhand position is outdoors and bears extreme weather conditions

Can result in working away from home in camp situation

Requires incumbent to work at elevated heights

Various Shifts up to including 14 days with 7 days off

Physical Requirements:
This position is physically demanding. Incumbent is required to stand for extended periods of time, lift heavy objects on regular basis and do repetitive tasks.

Qualifications:
Technical

Valid Drivers is preferred

Previous Mechanical experience

Previous experience working in a Rig setting.

Safety certifications as follows preferred.

Company will assist in obtaining certifications as per company policy and/or industry standard

H2S

First Aid

Fall Protection

Rig Rescue

Interpersonal
