Principal Mechanical Engineer

A leading oil & gas engineering consultancy has a new requirement for a Principal Mechanical Engineer to be based in their offices in Surrey.

Responsibilities:

- Provide technical leadership to the company engineering operations to assist engineers to provide safe cost effective engineering solutions, ensure output meets specification, is fit for purpose, fully documented and complies with relevant national and international standards.
- Review output of the engineering department and ensure appropriate quality of deliverables is maintained.
- Participate in day to day engineering and design work..
- Maintain full compliance with all related aspects of the company quality environment safety and customer care policy.
- Supervise, develop, and encourage subordinates.
- Provide technical advice to subordinates.
- Liaison with clients and third parties as required.

Experience:

- Accredited Engineering Degree and / or Chartered Status.
- Extensive experience in subsea or offshore Broadly based theoretical and practical knowledge.
- Good management and interpersonal skills.
- Good oral and written communication skills.

Skills:

Man management, with the ability set and maintain standards of work output from subordinates. A thorough technical track record covering at least two or more of the following core skills; design, manufacture, and test of subsea equipment for the oil and gas industry. Installation of subsea systems, ROV system design, hydraulics and control system design, field layout and development, production and drilling operations.
