Mechanical Project Engineer

 Role: Mechanical Project Engineer
Location: Irvine, Scotland
Type: Contract
Duration: 6 months
Rate: Negotiable

Job Purpose:
Our Client requires a Mechanical Project Engineer to be based in Irvine on a contract basis.


Role and Responsibilities:
- Represent the Client Power Systems and the project engineering function with the customer manufacturing unit management.
- Provide weekly updates and reports.
- Attend weekly and monthly manufacturing plant meetings (projects, updated, safety, permit to work, steering group).


Experience:
- Significant experience of managing and executing multi-disciplined engineering projects in a manufacturing environment.
- Experience of specifying mechanical equipment from third party suppliers.
- Review and approve vendors technical specifications and engineering drawings in line with the Client and the customers procedures.
- Track record in managing multi-disciplined site construction, installation, testing, commissioning and validation of projects.
- Experience of estimating and cost control of engineering projects.
- Experience of leading a small team of project engineers.
- Pharmaceutical manufacturing environment experience an advantage.


Requirements:
- HNC/HND Mechanical Engineering
- BEng Mechanical Engineer is desirable
- Sound track record in the management and delivery of engineering projects.
- Ability to organise and communicate with multi-disciplined teams.
- Understanding of the management of Project Engineering issues and effective use of relevant tools and techniques for EPC delivery.
- Ability to evaluate technical and contractual information.
- Ability to utilise cost control and forecasting tools.
- Knowledge of key project management procedures and documents including HSEQ management systems and cost control systems.
- Ability to communicate at all levels including with senior customer contacts.
- Ability to work as a member of a multi-disciplinary delivery team.
