In expedited truck driving jobs, different types of trucks are used depending on the packages to be sent. Small cargo vans, semi-trucks, and straight trucks are the ones which are most commonly used. Expedited trucking companies are always offering jobs to people who are qualified. These jobs require more than just experience and skill. It is necessary to consider your emotional, mental and physical fitness before embarking on these imperative quests. There is always a large sum of money lost if the packages are not delivered to their predefined definitions within the time specified. In most cases, losses are suffered by both parties, sending and receiving.
An expedited truck driver must be prepared to perform any kind of delivery. This may even include selling certain items to the public. The duty of selling products will generally provide commissions, which can be a pleasant additional source of income to your basic salary. A driver could also potentially have to perform other tasks: deliver uniforms, pick up laundry, deliver inventory, etc.
To apply for an expedited trucking job, the driver must have a commercial driver's license (CDL) for the particular truck which he will be driving. A driver is expected to have the license before submitting his application for employment, and if he does not have a valid CDL, he will stand no chance of being hired. For prospective drivers, trucking school is a good idea to prepare for the CDL exam.

Expedited trucking jobs are very popular amongst drivers because they have the opportunity of earning a great salary. Drivers of heavy trucks are generally paid an average of $19.35 per hour, and drivers that handle light service trucks can expect to receive between $12.85 and $14.50 per hour.
