Driller - Idaho - Thermasource - Idaho

Job Descriptions:
Develops a safe work culture by supervising, training and coaching employees. Critical to any Drilling operation by operating the Drilling Rig and all Rig operations.

Conducts safety meetings and safety drills. Ensures all employees and service personnel follow company safety and production policies.

Responsible for the safe, efficient, productive operation of all necessary Drilling Equipment.

Drilling rig controls.

Mud circulating system.

Proper handling of BHA.

Properly tracks and monitors drilling and tripping trends.

Operates the rig safely and efficiently.

Makes competent decisions when abnormalities occur.

Responsible for knowing all activities/equipment required on and around the rig.

Responsible for knowing and following the Well Program.

Assists with the supervision of Rig moves, positions, sets up the rig at the desired location and dismantles the rig once drilling is complete.

Crew leader

Knows every pick and load.

Knows rig layout.

Utilizes proper rigging techniques and issuing signals.

Plans and organizes duties for their crew, monitors crew’s progress and evaluates their performance.

Keeps crew busy with productive, efficient work.

Evaluates crew members quarterly.

Completes Corrective Action Reports, when necessary.

Ensures that crews properly understand and follow all safety/production procedures.

Leads by example.

Coaches crew on Company Policies.

Ensures that all maintenance and repairs are performed on a daily basis.

Full knowledge of maintaining all rig equipment.

Instructs crew on proper maintenance.

Keeps track of all company paperwork, and ensures that it is being completed properly.

Coaches and ensures all paperwork is completed correctly and accurately.

Keeps accurate detailed records of the rig's production and well information.

Accurately completes IADC Tour sheet.

Knows where position in the hole at all times.

Keeps an accurate record of BHA and drill string.

Maintains the highest level of professionalism at all times.

Leads by example.

Motivates crew to work in a safe and efficient manner.

Keeps the crew busy and strives to increase production thru safe, efficient means.

Assists and reports to Rig Manager and Co-Man.

Follows chain of Command

Keeps Rig Manager informed of all duties.

Required Experience:
Skills/Qualifications/Competencies:
1-2 years of experience as a Floorhand , 1+ years of experience as a Motor and 2+ years of experience as a Derrick.

High School Diploma or GED preferred.

Must have excellent reading, writing, comprehension and organizational skills.

Supervisory experience is preferred. Must have strong leadership abilities, and be able to effectively communicate with others.

Must have the ability to problem solve, to apply critical thinking, common sense, able to reason and handle a high degree of stress well.

Must be committed to a high standard of safety, and be willing and able to comply with all safety regulations and Company safety policies.

Must have a positive and professional attitude, be reliable, self-motivated and maintain a strong work ethic.

Must be willing to work in Idaho.

Physical Demands:
While performing the essential functions of this position, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, climb, balance, bend over, kneel, crouch and crawl.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, lift up to 100 pounds and push/pull/move up to 150 pounds.

This position requires specific vision abilities: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Must be able to successfully perform all functions of the Human Performance Evaluation (HPE) for this position.
