CTO (West Los Angeles)

The CTO reports to the chief executive officer (CEO). The CTO is in charge of directing the company technologically and is considered the leader in all of the aspects of the company's technical advancements. The CTO is looked up to as the top tech executive in the company and is part of an intricate group that leads the company and creates strategies for the company's future.

The CTO is required to work in conjunction with the other chief officers (CO) of the company to find opportunities and risks that the company may face and to facilitate the advancement of the company technologically. The person must also find the trends of technology that may help his company advance, procure those trends and technologies and implement them in the company. The CTO is required to lead the tech department of the company and be an active member of the senior management...but most importantly, be a hands on manager.

The CTO is expected to stay on top of the current trends and up-to-date information of technology in use, emerging technology, technology of the competitors and new software and practices. Furthermore, he/she must maintain these practices and standards within the company and ensure they are up to date. The CTO is also responsible for ensuring the maintenance of all technological devices within the company is taken care of promptly.

The CTO is expected to have superb programming background, communication skills for both oral and written communication. He/she must be a strong leader with interpersonal skills that allow he/her to work with others. He/she needs to have experience in negotiations and management as well as being able to adapt to a constantly changing environment. The CTO must have a proven track record of excelling in mobile technologies, computer technology, management and deployment.

*Fluent in HTML / JavaScript / CSS / PHP
*High volume database backend design experience is a must (MySQL, Couch DB or similar)
*Native Android and iOS programming is a big plus
*PhoneGap experience is a big plus
*Mobile application design and user interface experience
*Experience with cloud systems like Amazon or GoGrid
*Experience with high volume cloud based client server architecture
*Build mobile client and server systems that can handle up to 1 million concurrent users
*Ability to code and design cross-platform frameworks in JavaScript
*Experience with building automated high volume QA test scripts to stress test the system
*Excellent communication skills and teamwork
*Ability to take requirements and create solid implementation roadmaps and documentation
*Ability to lead a development team and manage them
*Ability to understand customer requirements and create a solid development schedules and timelines
