LAKEWOOD — State health officials say old military explosives found in a Lakewood park will be destroyed at the park by detonation.

The munitions will be surrounded by sandbags and detonated on Friday at Green Mountain Park.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment says the munitions were located this week by Defense Department contractors.

The contractors located 10 objects, and five contained residual explosives.
