GENERAL SUMMARY: In this position the Landscape Designer will report to the Principal Landscape Architect and assist with phases of landscape architecture projects.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:

Duties of the Landscape Designer include, but are not limited to:
? Prepare drawings from schematic phase to construction phase.
? Review of all submittals prior to presenting to city, design team, client, etc.
? Assist in selection and research of plants, construction material and finish material.
? Assist with monitoring work site to ensure compliance with state regulations and safety code.
? Assist and monitor work site to ensure no construction concerns in the garden.
? Manage the quality and aesthetics of construction site/garden.
? Maintain stick files and roll sets organized and up to date.
? Provide support to Principal Landscape Architect based on other duties and project needs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Related Skills:
? Ability to manage projects technically, financially and on schedule.
? Ability to track schedules and establish priorities while handling multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
? Knowledge of principles and practices of organization, planning, records management and general administration.
? Knowledge of a variety of computer software applications such as Auto CAD, Adobe Photoshop, SketchUp or other 3D Program.
? Ability to communicate effectively both in written format and oral presentation.
? Ability to read and implement simple blue prints and landscape schematics.
? Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
? Demonstrate good personal control and judgment under normal and stressful conditions.
? Able to understand the needs of others and to offer viable cost effective solutions to diverse problems.
? Must possess valid Driver's License and maintain a satisfactory CA DMV record and be in possession of automobile insurance policy.
? Ability to be on-call and participate in 24-hour radio/pager rotations, which may result in additional compensation as required by law.

Education:
? BLA ,BSLA, or MLA from an accredited landscape architecture program a must

Experience:
? Minimum 4 years of professional experience under the direction of a Landscape Architect. Location: MalibuPrincipals only.
