Position: Graphic Designer (This is an IN-HOUSE position)

Hours: Full Time (Monday-Friday 7:00AM to 3:30PM PST)

Compensation:

? 3-month probation period

? Base salary: $35,000 to $40,000 depending on experience

? Benefits after probation period: Medical, dental, vision benefits after 3 months of employment; Eligible for 401(k) program after 1 year of full time employment; 10 paid days off per year (accumulated at 2.5 days per quarter)

Plan and produce campaigns for marketing collateral with our in-house photographer and copy writer, layout multi-page print materials, have direct creative input in strengthening and promoting the Maxpedition brand and best of all, be respected as a graphic designer!

Ideal Candidate:
Maxpedition is seeking a talented Graphic Designer with experience designing for campaigns in print, magazine, and web platforms. Candidate should be motivated and enjoy a fast-paced, team oriented atmosphere with potential for upward mobility in a rapidly growing company. Must have a strong background in Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator, and a strong sense of typography with a true understanding of type hierarchy and structure. Must also be able to work independently and have the ability to keep 3 steps ahead. Time / work load management and organization is imperative.

Education & Relevant Experience:
College degree in graphic design or experience equivalent to preferred and at least 4-5 years graphic design experience in a related field

Job duties include but are not limited to:
? Design print ads for Domestic and National markets
? Layout Catalogs, LookBooks, direct mailers, and Newsletters for print and web
? Design eye-catching banner ads
? Design elements for our website, blog, social networks, and videos
? Package design
? Design new branding materials
? Participate in department meetings to plan marketing materials
? Assist photographer in photo shoots when necessary
? Build our font library using existing fonts as well as creating new fonts specifically for Maxpedition
? Work with vectors and photographic images
? Color match CMYK to PANTONE colors / color proofing

Looking For:
? Someone experienced in designing for campaigns
? Good print background, retail background very helpful but not necessary
? Strong typographic skills, true understanding of type hierarchy and structure
? Strong technical and creative skills in Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign
? Strong illustration skills
? Strong command of English language, spelling & grammar
? Willingness to learn about our company's brand / products and our industry
? Great attention to detail
? Strong sense of urgency
? Organized, trustworthy, thorough, efficient, hard-working person who is able to focus on projects and see them through to their completion
? Works well without immediate supervision
? Self disciplined (please, no drama)
? Good interpersonal communication skills
? Team player
? Strong problem solving skills
? Strong level of organizational skills and sense of responsibility

? HTML and CSS a plus
