Job Description

POSITION TITLE: Desktop Technician/Systems Administrator
REPORTS TO: Owner
LOCATION: West Hollywood, CA

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

We are looking for a person with strong desktop technician/system administrator experience. This person must bring a wide range of knowledge in this area as well as the ability to apply process to our entrepreneurial and ever changing business landscape. As the subject matter expert within the Company you will be expected to anticipate, identify, and solve custom related problems and provide consistent, documentable solutions that meet both the needs of internal and external customers. Qualified candidates will be responsible for effective desktop and MAC support, configuration, setup, and maintenance of systems hardware and software.
This is a temp to hire - full time position requiring the ability to work independently and in a team; this position
will be based at our office in Hollywood, CA.

Duties include:
- Install new/rebuild existing desktops/MACs and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standards and project/operational requirements
- Documenting and implementing application process, development, and testing improvements
- Develop and maintain installation and configuration/operational procedures
- Work closely with Owner on all aspects of the Information Technology Department
- Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs, and verifying completion of scheduled jobs such as backups
- Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media, recovery tapes or disks are created, and media is recycled and sent off site as necessary. Perform regular file archival and purge as necessary
- Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with impacted constituencies
- Apply OS patches and upgrades on a regular basis, and upgrade administrative tools and utilities. Configure/add new services as necessary
- Upgrade and configure system software that supports organization infrastructure applications or Asset Management applications per project or operational needs
- Maintain data center environmental and monitoring equipment
- Handle other duties, as assigned by Owner

Education/Experience Requisites

• Working technical knowledge (5 + Years) of Desktop Technician/System Administrator experience is required
• Ability to conduct research into systems issues and products as required
• Windows (XP, 2000, 2003, 2008) and MAC OS X 10.4+
• Experience working with SAN's and NAS's (EMC VNXe Series)
• Experiences in AD, LDAP, NFS, DNS, DHCP, and RAID level are a plus
• Familiar with Symantec Backup Exec 2012
• Familiar with VMware vCenter 5
• Familiar with Cisco phone systems
• Familiar with networking and firewalls
