Host Collective is looking for a graphic designer. We are an Internet (web site hosting) company based in Pasadena, CA, and we have a part time in-house position open for a variety of design work; web sites, logos, banner ads, etc. There is some print work required, but the bulk of the work is web-based.

We are looking for someone to bring fresh ideas that are outside of the traditional hosting industry imagery cliches. You will have creative discretion in most of the work, but of course there will also be aspects of the work where we need something in line with specific design criteria and marketing needs (in other words, sometimes you will have to work on things that could be considered 'boring'). Ideally we would like someone to bring a distinctive and unifying aesthetic to our online properties and advertising.

Position is full time, in-house at our Pasadena office. It is not a work-from-home or telecommuting gig. Starting pay rate is $20 per hour.

JOB DESCRIPTION

+ Creation of a wide variety of web graphics
+ Logo creation/modification
+ Creation of print advertising and brochures
+ Creation of collateral print items; business cards, letterheads, promotional items
+ Making use of/modifying existing files, elements, etc.
+ Working with input from "non-designers," e.g. Marketing Department staff, etc.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

Solid knowledge of:
+ Mac computer platform
+ Adobe creative tools; Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.
+ Tablet input devices
+ Scanners
+ Web graphic formats, image optimization
+ Design-for-web requirements
+ Design-for-print requirements
+ Collaborative systems (Basecamp, etc.)

Experience with the following technologies is not required, but is a big plus:
+ Web site design, HTML, ASP.NET, etc.
+ Web site coding as it relates to images, javascript, etc.
+ User Experience design
