This company has high expectations from our clients and high expectations from our staff. We are currently looking for prep cooks at our Van Nuys location. The prep cook is to assist in the preparation of meals by chopping vegetables, making salads, and putting together entrees. It provides the ideal opportunity to develop many other types of skills essential to becoming a chef. Such skills include proficiently being able to utilize a wide range of kitchen tools and utensils, include chopping knives and vegetable grinders. In addition to food preparation duties, a prep cook may be responsible for completing a large number of smaller tasks. Such tasks could include ensuring that leftover food is stored properly, performing kitchen maintenance tasks such as emptying the trash and washing dishes, and testing the temperature of food at specified intervals.

? Must be available early mornings, evenings, weekends and holidays.

? Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

? Works under general supervision.

? Ensures that all food preparations and presentations meet specifications and commitment to quality.

? Maintains a safe, orderly and sanitized kitchen. Butchering of meats and fish

? Dress professionally and within the guidelines of Company procedures including the company approved uniform.

? All other duties as assigned by the Kitchen Manager / Executive Chef.
