He also said that the excess amount that the airlines have collected "in exorbitant passenger fares can be identified".

In her report tabled in Parliament last week, recommended the Standing Committee on transport, tourism and culture that "in the future all the airlines can be asked to their rates only with the approval of DGCA increase".

It said a "transparent" formula for the prices of airline tickets must be developed and "performed" within three months.

In response to the Civil Aviation Ministry comments that the DGCA a supervisory role and ensures that airlines rates of different categories, the Commission, headed by Sitaram Yechury, senior CPM leader said the recent initiatives of DGCA in this context "has not much answer of the travellers".

It also asked DGCA to ensure that airlines "do not indulge in unfair commercial practices in the establishment of air fares during festival and other peak seasons like the inconvenience of the travelling public".

This winter, peak season airfares increased by nearly 25-30 percent, mainly due to high jet fuel prices, with the Ministry asked airlines to publish the pricing system of different tariff plates including bos airlines tickets for sale.

The aviation regulator is a cell that regularly monitors the air tariff rates of all airlines on the basis of the lowest and the highest rate brackets submitted by the carriers themselves.
