Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri Al-Maliki and Eni’s CEO Paolo Scaroni (pictured) met today in Baghdad to discuss Eni’s activities in the Country.
During the meeting, which the company described as “cordial”, Eni’s CEO updated the Prime Minister on the development activities of Zubair’s super giant field and confirmed Eni’s commitment and presence in the Country.
The parties also discussed the state of development of the Iraqi hydrocarbon sector, its potential and opportunities that could be jointly developed. The Prime Minister al-Maliki expressed his satisfaction with the activities carried out by Eni in the Country.
Eni’s CEO also met the Iraqi Deputy Prime Minister, Hussain al-Shahristani, and the Minister of Oil, Abdul-Kareem Luaibi Bahedh.
Eni is the operator of Zubair, considered one of the largest oil fields of Iraq. Zubair will produce 1.2 million barrels of oil equivalent per day when operating at full capacity.
