Telecom EGoM meeting of spectrum postponed

The EGoM has to decide about the reservation of the price for this service areas should be established. It also has to decide about CDMA spectrum that had no takers.

The recent auction of GSM spectrum attracted bids worth Rs 9,407 crore compared with minimal expected amount of Rs 28,000 crore.

There is also a proposal to conduct an auction of the 900 Mhz band in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata along with 1800 Mhz band, but must take on the proposal EGoM final call.

Telecom operators prefer 900 Mhz band as they need to implement less telecom towers in comparison with that in the 1800 Mhz band.
