KEY PURPOSE
Supervise and conduct Fire Inspections and review Engineer drawings, investigate fires and, to cross man the Deputy Fire Chief position. Conduct daily fire department duties and training. Must be able to be the incident commander until the Fire Chief or the Deputy Fire Chief arrived on the scene;
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Shall supervise and conduct fire prevention unit duties and tasks
-Conduct inspections to identify hazards and address violations and conducting fire investigations to determine origin and preliminary cause.
- Shall be able to prepare reports concerning the fire services; participate in the inspection, testing and maintenance of fire fighter vehicle, fixed and portable fire extinguishing systems, water distribution systems and all other equipment related to the fire services.
-Evaluate the job performance of assigned members, given personnel records and evaluation forms, so each member's performance is evaluated accurately and reported according.
-Conduct fire fighting operations, rescue operations and fire fighting training activities. Shall have excellent knowledge of fire-fighting vehicles and it operation.
-Manage and Participates in Fire Prevention and Life Safety inspections;
-Manage and instruct non-fire fighting personnel and various organized groups; and
- Manage and conduct fire inspections when require;
- Manage the inspection, testing and maintenance of all fixed or portable
-Extinguishing or Detection systems, fire apparatus and water distribution systems by;
-Manage the inspections, testing and maintenance of hand portable Fire fighting equipment. Life Safety equipment and fire fighting vehicles.
-Maintains a high level of cooperation between peers, subordinates and supervisors:
-Setting an example by maintaining a high standard with respect to dress, deportment and communication. Represents the Fire Services in a professional manner;
-Resolving any problems by informing supervisor of any problems using the proper chain of command;
-Demonstrating initiative and utilizing time well, anticipating problems, and offering solutions; and
-Executing effective time management by completing assignments on time or earlier.
QUALIFICATIONS
Fire fighter Qualifications or Equivalent
Fire Apparatus Driver Operator or Equivalent
Driver Operator or Equivalent
Airport Fire-fighter or Equivalent
Fire Investigator or Equivalent
EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE
Knowledge of conducting Fire Inspections
Experience in producing Fire Inspection reports
