Shriram, Mokul bag $230m Basra Contract

A joint venture between the Indian companies Shriram EPC Limited (SEPC) and the Mokul Group has bagged an order worth $230 million for the supply and laying of basic sanitary systems in Basra.

Shriram EPC, which is part of Shriram Group, is an integrated design, engineering, procurement, construction and project management services for power plants, renewable energy projects, process and metallurgical plants and municipal service sector projects.

The scope of work entails engineering, supply and installation of a primary sanitary sewer system, storm sewer system and trunk sewer system with connected pumping stations and road works.

According to a report from Business Standard, Shriram will oversee the laying of approximately 240km of sewer pipe line, 160km of storm pipe line, and 8km of trunk sewer pipe line along with road works in the area. The project is scheduled for completion in 3 years.

Managing Director and CEO of Shriram EPC, T. Shivaraman (pictured), said that this is the company’s first order in the Middle East.

ABS deserves Contract to accommodations in Eagle Ford

Advanced building Services (ABS), the OI sister company, has been awarded a new five-year contract to offer custom, glides and work quarters for three field crew accommodations rigs Eagle Ford shale region.

The contract contains ABS of manufacture, transport, rig-up and rig-down of services are custom designed buildings, which are furnished with quality furniture and appliances. The buildings contain a heavy, 10-gauge steel frame for safety, custom insulation and air conditioners 3-ton suited crew members during the scorching summer heat.

OptaSense Wins Contract in Iraq

OptaSense, which is owned by QinetiQ, has secured a key pipeline security contract in Iraq. The contract is to help provide protection to a new 180km pipeline corridor, owned and run by the State Company for Oil Project Iraq (SCOP).

OptaSense will be providing the technology to allow vital operational and security data to help operate, protect and secure the pipeline along both sides of a 60 meters wide pipeline corridor. When complete the pipeline corridor will be protected by over 20,000 virtual microphones making it one of the most monitored assets in the region.

Cresent Wins Major Training Contract at Rumaila

Scottish-based Cresent is delivering the most significant contract in its 30-year history after signing a multi-million pound deal to supply health and safety training products for workers in Iraq’s giant Rumaila oilfield.

Cresent has been awarded the contract by BP Iraq, which is operating the field in a joint venture with PetroChina and the National Iraqi South Oil Company.

Greek Company Wins 200m-Euro Grand Faw Contract

Iraq’s Ministry of Transport has reportedly signed a contract with a Greek company to construct the eastern breakwater and dock services for the new Grand Faw sea-port.

According to NINA, the project will cost 204 million Euros, equivalent to 315 billion Iraqi dinars.

While the name of the company was not mentioned, Iraq Businesses News has previously reported that the Greek company Archirodon was one of the two finalists to win the contract.
