Drilling Engineer

Role and Scope:

- To implement safe, environmentally sound and efficient well operations.
- To ensure regulatory and corporate policy conformance in all well operations.
- To ensure that required approvals are obtained prior to initiation of any activity and that the activity is then conducted in accordance with the approvals received.
- To develop realistic Cost Estimates which reflect an appropriate level of contingency.
- To manage Well Projects utilizing the Maxwell Process during Ops Planning & Execution: assist in preparation of Gofor-it and Plan-it, prepare Maxwell documents including Drill-it, MOPS, Risk-it, Wrap-it etc.
- To prepare Risk Analysis and mitigation plans are as appropriate.
- To recommend implementation of new techniques and practices.
- To follow up on significant problems & make recommendations for improvement.
- To document Lessons Learned in Maxwell databases and utilize in future plans.
- To provide technical assistance & operational analysis to offshore personnel.
- To track and analyse operational performance.
- To assist the Cost Analyst in tracking costs, etc.
- To actively monitor costs performance during the well operations including completion.
- To monitor daily WELLVIEW input to ensure data integrity.
- To provide daily and weekly project status reports and information for management.
- To provide guidance and instructions to the selected service companies.
- To order equipment within company policy.
- To maintain good communications and awareness amongst well operations related sections by holding onshore pre-spud or pre-workover meetings.
- To provide offshore support by holding pre-spud meetings, and assistance during critical drilling and workover operations, such as casing/ cementing jobs.
- To assist the Drilling Supervisor in the coordination of offshore requirements and day-to-day events.
- To perform weekend duty as required per Duty Guidelines.
- To perform Contract Administration as required.

Oil & Gas Qualitative Analysts sought - London

Our boutique client supplies bespoke data, reports, consulting and other analytical services to many of the leading players in the oil and gas industry - ranging from the Investment banks and major oil companies to government agencies and the trade press, as well as many other organisations. They are seeking highly motivated individuals to fill a variety of positions all with a focus on the offshore oil and gas arena. Successful candidates with be analysing, reporting and consulting in this space - with a very high level of ownership, responsibility and client contact. You will have to show a high degree of initiative and the ability to work to your own timescales as you will be expected to contribute from the outset. Appropriate training and support will be provided for the right candidates, but you will need to be able to demonstrate the majority of the following skills in interview:
* An understanding of macro-economics - with particular relation to the energy industry
* Experience working in the Oil and Gas space - particularly in the Offshore part of the industry
* An excellent understanding of mathematics and statistics
* An excellent working knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel
* Be able to analyse qualitative and quantitative data. You will need to identifying trends within data sets, drawing conclusions from them and displaying these conclusions in a way the reader or the client can understand them.
* Presenting results to clients
* Be able to chair workshops for industry officials and executives, and generally representing the company at exhibitions, presentations and other events.
* Excellent writing skills are required, even to short deadlines.

The ideal candidate will come from a relevant consulting environment, or an analytical role in the Oil and Gas space.
