Project Engineer - Electrical (South LA County)

Gould Electric is seeking qualified candidates for a Project Engineer (PE) to join our Project Operations Team in LA. This is an entry level, professional development position for those with a strong desire to become a Project Manager. The PE is a key contributor to the overall day-to-day activities of Project Operations and works closely with Project Managers in support of executing their projects. The PE performs a variety of professional and administrative duties in support of the Project Operations Team and may include running some smaller projects.

The ideal candidate would have:
? 1 to 2 years' experience as a PE running small jobs or equivalent experience -- a plus
? A degree in Construction Management or equivalent experience
? Field experience or experience in the electrical industry highly desirable
? Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment
? Ability to use computer software and technology to effectively perform the duties and tasks required (Timberline, Accubid, Blue Beam, Outlook, WORD, EXCEL, etc.)
? Ability to walk job sites when needed
? Ability to lift and carry up to 30lbs as needed
? A valid CA driver license with a good driving record
? Able to pass a background check for access to schools and military installations
? Strong written and verbal communications skills a must

SUMMARY
Electrical/Mechanical fabrication and rig up by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Knowledge on wiring batteries, alternators and starters.
Has electrical knowledge of components for control panels.
Willing to learn and follow written and verbal instructions.
Has the ability to run tubing and screw piping.
Has the ability to make suggestions on basic problem solving.
Knowledge of package assembly for oilfield type equipment
Has the ability to perform engine alignment with driven equipment.
Has the ability to read blueprint and perform basic skid layout functions for assembly
Has the ability to assemble sheaves and bushings with proper belt sizes.
Operates all assembly tooling independently with no supervision
Operate forklifts
Must have electrical and mechanical tooling

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

Senior Electrical Engineer

Senior Electrical Engineer with an oil and gas background required to be based in Cairo on a 2 year assignment.

Job description:

The position is within the client's offices providing Electrical discipline expertise in support of the client's team for the detail engineering of a number of projects to upgrade their existing and new Oil and Gas facilities. This is a Project Management role as such; the engineer shall oversee and police the detailed engineering contractor design. The position requires a sound knowledge of the following aspects of Electrical engineering:-

Electrical Principals
International codes and standards
Design of 11kV and below distribution systems
Earthing systems
Power system analysis and protection
Plant layout
Substation design
Selection of switchgear and transformers
Knowledge of drives
Area classification
Control schemes
Commercially aware including contractual sensitivities
Duties will require resolution of technical and contractual issues, and policing of the design to ensure compliance with project requirements.

Requirements:

Chartered Engineer will be highly desirable.
Experience must include detail electrical engineering of similar installations.
Extensive experience in the Oil & Gas or related industries.
Proven PMC experience
Overseas experience is essential, experience in the Middle-East / Egypt will be desirable.
Good level of spoken and written English

As an Electrical Technician you will perform maintenance routines on platform electrical systems as part of a multidiscipline team, working for a service provider to the Offshore Oil and Gas industry.

The main duties and responsibilities on this role will include:
*Authorised person to effect the isolation of electrical equipment, specifically HV where authorised.
*Installs, troubleshoots, maintains and services electrical distributing systems, motors, generators, rheostats, control panels, switchgear, voltage regulators, rectifiers, electronic equipment, transformers, meters and automation equipment and controls in liaison with other departments to ensure continuity of safe operations.
*Keeps an adequate supply of electrical supplies and spare parts and prepares requisitions for items as needed.
*Maintains good housekeeping conditions in electrical workshop, job sites and switch rooms.
*Witness cable tests, test runs of vendor/specialist repaired equipment/plant and sign documentation to verify acceptance.
*Observe Company safety rules and regulations, including permit to work system and comply with same and puts forward suggestions and develop modification requests as necessary to improve plant/equipment efficiency/safety of operations.
*Ensure "as built" drawings are updated and on passed to draughting via Supervisor/Discipline Engineers.

You will be qualified to ONC level or equivalent in a related engineering discipline (ideally electrical) with experience of working in an electrical discipline within the oil and gas industry offshore. You will also have a trade qualification (NVQ/City and Guilds or equivalent) and compex 01-04.

Electrical Fitter

My client requires a trained and skilled electrical fitter apprenticeship to work on an immediate agreement as soon as possible. The proposed duration of the contract will be approximately 3 months, but there is a good possibility that it can be extended if more orders were won by the client.

The ideal candidate will experience of wiring looms and build control panels and installing them in vehicles.

In addition to the above, soldering and cable wrapping will also be an integral part of the role, as will work from heights and in confined spaces within the workshop environment.

Main goals and objectives:

-Competent in use of analytical methods used within discipline including theoretical background for analysis programs.
-Aware of the commercial, contractual and administrative aspects of engineering.
-Experienced in quality control requirements and quality assurance for engineering work.
-Competent in constructive safety/environmental requirements, procedures and responsibilities for both itself and subordinates.

Controls, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer

My client has an immediate need for a Controls, Electrical & Instrumentation Engineer to join a busy team of 10.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Controls, Electrical and Instrumentation Engineer to join one of the world's leading operators within the Oil & Gas sector.


Based in Hull, it will be your role to provide design assurance and cost estimate for new build equipment and maintenance support to existing laboratory to pilot plant scale equipment. The area of the business that you would be joining work on a portfolio of technologies which convert low cost hydrocarbons to power, fuels and other products.


The role will also involve providing discipline input to team for new build equipment from design, costing, installation and commissioning, also managing discipline maintenance and inspection activities to maximise availability of equipment. Also ensuring that equipment complies with relevant standards and manage maintenance activities from planning to execution.


Chosen candidates will be Degree qualified (or equivalent) in Electrical Engineer and professional membership / Chartership of a relevant engineering body is preferred. You should have demonstrable experience of DCS software based control systems and working in a multidisciplinary team within a research, operations, production or design environment. You will need to be a natural team player with excellent communication skills. Strong IT skills are a must. Experience of control systems such as DeltaV or Labview would be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
