System Integration Engineer (software) (Los Angeles)
Systems/software engineer. The suitable candidate will be a member of a startup team developing an ultrasonic medical technology for women's health. Key responsibility will be to participate in the design, development, and integration of the technology into a strategic partner's clinical platform. Familiarity with embedded signal processing applications and ultrasound systems architecture will benefit the product development and integration activities. Other responsibilities will include R&D support including algorithm development, modeling, data collection, and analysis. Laboratory development is conducted in a LabView data acquisition and control environment with algorithm development proceeding in parallel using Matlab & Python. Prototype and clinical implementations will be based upon partner(s) custom hardware architectures and API. Background in software or computer engineering with experience in acoustics, ultrasonics, and/or medical device development is desirable. As a member of a small team, the candidate will have the opportunity to be part of all facets of the development process including planning, algorithm design, integration strategy, software and firmware implementation, and the ultimate deployment of the solution. The candidate will report directly to the Software Development Manager.
Qualifications (M-Must, P-Preferred):
? (M) Excellent handling of English understanding, reading, writing and speaking skills;
? (M) Signal and image processing experience;
? (M) Minimum 4 years of proven experience in product development/project management;
? (M) Familiarity with medical/industrial ultrasound technologies, acoustics, or RF field theory;
? (M) Python or C++ proficiency;
? (M) LabView proficiency;
? (M) Matlab/Simulink proficiency;
? (M) Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Physics or a closely related field;
? (M) Excellent time-management skills
? (P) Background in ultrasound/medical product development;
? (P) Knowledge of breast cancer and medical terms;
