Inspector

KEY PURPOSE
An experienced Inspector is required for a 3-6 month contract with our prestigious client at their Gloucestershire site. Our client has over 800 sites worldwide providing manufacturing, sales and service to meet the quality productivity and environmental requirements of the energy industry.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Our client is looking for an Inspector to work on a rotating shift system including nights to inspect product, components and materials to the requirements of the quality system. The key responsibilities for this role include:
- To inspect product, components and materials to the requirements of the quality system, and to ensure the priorities placed upon the department are achieved.
- The identification and reporting of non conforming product.

QUALIFICATIONS
- Inspection experience within a mechanical engineering environmental
- Time server apprenticeship with City and guilds qualification.

EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE
Extensive use of mechanical measuring equipment/ instruments and Interpretation of engineering drawings and material specifications. Working to exacting requirements with minimum supervision in a precision engineering environment.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE
- MS Office - basic
- ERP - JDE
- Non conformity reporting system
- Crib Master - calibration
- Team Center - Documentation, drawings, material specifications
- Measurements with mechanical, optical or electronic measuring equipment
- Dye pentrant inspection, of matrix bits
- Ultrasonic inspection, of PDC cutters and bit welds

Consultant Petrophysicist

OPC requires 2 consultant petrophysicists to form part of a full subsurface production team to be based in Southern Iraq on a 28/28 day rotation.

SHIFT OPERATIONS SUPERVISOR - COMAH SITE

£50-60000 plus benefits

Our client has an opportunity at top tier COMAH site for a senior member of the management team.
The Shift Operations Supervisor will have extensive experience in the operational management of process operations and a proven ability to maximise operational performance.
Ideally you will have a HNC/D or degree in an Engineering or Production Management discipline or be able to demonstrate equivalent knowledge, skills and experience.
Also you will have a clear knowledge and understanding of health and safety and environmental legislation and standards
You will be able to show a proven ability to deliver appropriate operational & HSE policies and procedures and assure effective compliance in a 24/7 operating environment
In addition you will have excellent communication skills and the ability to manage performance and motivate individuals within an operational shift team and with contractor companies.
Strong planning and organising skills which include a proven capability in prioritising and resource management; strong interpersonal and communication skills to create effective working relationships and enduring relationships with local stakeholders. Finally you will have the confidence to challenge practices, suggest alternatives & drive implementation of solutions.

The Shift Operations Supervisor has the responsibility to:
* Understand the entire facility and manage its operation in a safe and efficient manner.
* Lead a shift team. Motivate and deliver performance through people and ensure individual & team competencies and capabilities are reviewed, maintained and developed
* Understand, implement, review and maintain KPIs, rules, policies procedures and management systems required by a top-tier COMAH site, regulatory standards and frameworks and accreditation standards such as ISO 14001/OHSAS18001,
* Ensure compliance to SHEQ requirements and deliver the commercial performance and flexibility consistently across the shift teams such that contractual obligations are fulfilled and operational optimisation of the asset is achieved.
* Responsibility for the site, the gas storage asset and interactions with key stakeholders and the local community, as appropriate (deputising for Storage Operations Manager as required).
KEY ACTIVITIES
* To operate the entire facilities in a flexible, efficient and safe manner including:
* Understanding the process and the critical plant and activities at site
* Compliance with site specific health, safety, environmental and operational procedures and ensuring compliance with legislative and company requirements
* Apply best operational practices to deliver the highest commercial performance without any detrimental effects
* Ensuring that the customer nominations are consistently delivered and that the performance of the asset is optimised to achieve this.
* Providing support, including organising permitting resource and ensuring application of safe systems of work, to planned & unplanned project and shutdown activities
* To drive a safety culture on site and ensuring that all those who attend/work on site understand this and align their behaviour to it
* To proactively manage and lead a team including:
* managing the performance and development of operational shift staff.
* develop and regularly reassess the Competency Management System to ensure the individuals and the team has competencies to operate a top-tier COMAH site
* Develop proactive working relationships with the customer of the facility and National Grid Gas
* Maintain positive EGS UK relationships with local community and key regulatory stakeholders as necessary.

They are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team.

The Role:

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, your main responsibilities as Project Engineer will include:

*Implementation of mechanical testing programmes, including:
oLiaising with clients
oDesigning suitable fixtures
oOperating servo-hydraulic test machines
oUse of appropriate instrumentation and data loggers
*Report writing
*Data interpretation and analysis

You:

You'll ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline. Knowledge and understanding of a recognised Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 and/or ISO 9002 is beneficial. You will have an understanding of instrumentation and measurement techniques and will be expected to be familiar with 3D CAD design software and FEA techniques. You'll ideally have a technical background within the Engineering/Metals environment and excellent analytical skills. Experience with LabView would be beneficial but not essential.

The Role:
Welding / Fabrication Inspector
Perform surveillance, inspection and examinations of equipment and materials purchased by our client or their customers located at fabrication sites.
Supervise / provide instructions - guidance to inspection personnel and ensure consistent application of project requirements
Organization of meetings, detailed technical reporting on the results of activities.
Monitoring and tracking of project Action Items, NCR's, scheduling and documentation including development of inspection reports.
Complete Close-out Evaluations and Supplier Evaluations.
Determine areas of potential improvement in supplier quality management processes. In conjunction with the Supplier Inspection coordinator ensure that customer quality management requirements and concerns regarding supplier performance are being identified and managed effectively.
Review of contract terms and specifications to ensure clear understanding of technical requirements and prerequisite verification and certification requirements.
Undertake and/or coordinate technical review of supplier data submissions typically including; quality plans, process and personnel qualifications and manufacturing records and certification.
Chair or attend and record pre-inspection meetings when specified by the Supplier Inspection Coordinator and follow-up implementation and close-out of agreed actions.
Witness of supplier process and personnel qualification tests in accordance with specification requirements. Witness/review of supplier (first party) inspection and test activities and records in accordance with specification/code requirements in accordance with approved inspection and test plans.
Competently undertake and document (second party) inspection and test activities as specified in approved inspection and test plans.
Facilitate customer or independent (Third Party) verification activities as specified in agreed inspection and test plans.
Monitor supplier technical query and design change control processes. Monitor supplier non-conformance and corrective action processes, and where necessary, raise non-conformance notes and facilitate disposition of non-conforming products and services.
Facilitate review of final manufacturing data reports and inspection release.
Analyze and report on supplier performance for input into supplier re-qualification and management review processes.
AWS-CWI REQUIRED
Requirements BA/BS in related field or applicable discipline preferred, or equivalent years experience. Thorough knowledge of applicable theories, practices, and accepted procedures. Generally 15-20 years of experience.
Possesses and is recognized as having a specialized depth or breadth of expertise within the department. Interprets internal and external business challenges with impact on the organization and recommends best practice solutions. Contributes to implementation plan development and program coordination.
Advanced proficiency with applicable software applications in related field. Advanced analytical and problem solving skills. Accuracy and attention to detail critical. Ability to meet deadlines and manage priorities is critical.
