The Background:

With over 30 years of industry experience, our client is one of the most respected testing and advisory services companies in the world. The Daventry laboratory is part of the Group's Energy Division and is the group's centre of excellence for mechanical fatigue and fracture mechanics testing. They are currently seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team.

The Role:

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, your main responsibilities as Project Engineer will include:

*Implementation of mechanical testing programmes, including:
oLiaising with clients
oDesigning suitable fixtures
oOperating servo-hydraulic test machines
oUse of appropriate instrumentation and data loggers
*Report writing
*Data interpretation and analysis

You:

You'll ideally be educated to degree level or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering or another relevant discipline. Knowledge and understanding of a recognised Quality Management Systems such as ISO 17025 and/or ISO 9002 is beneficial. You will have an understanding of instrumentation and measurement techniques and will be expected to be familiar with 3D CAD design software and FEA techniques. You'll ideally have a technical background within the Engineering/Metals environment and excellent analytical skills. Experience with LabView would be beneficial but not essential.
