Business Development Manager – £45K-£50K + package
Nuclear Industry – securing business from new & existing customers
My client are a nuclear specialist covering both civilian and defence sectors across the complete lifecycle; from new build, through operations & maintenance, to final decommissioning & waste management.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Sales & Marketing Division iofthe North West for a Business Development Manager.
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for identifying and securing business from new and existing customers and will design and champion marketing strategies. To ensure success, working closely with business development, proposals, corporate communications and operations departments is essential.
Outlined duties will include:
• Build relationships with key clients • Develop opportunities from the prospect stage, via pre-qualifications and tenders, to successful contract award, project execution and satisfied customers • Develop/prepare annual marketing plans • Work with Bid Managers and Operations staff in making bid/no-bid decisions and prepare detailed strategies for tenders and contribute to tender preparation. Understand and be familiar with competitors and key suppliers • Maintain knowledge of clients’ intentions, programmes and budgets to assist in the Company’s forward planning • Manage development activities to make effective use of the marketing budget • Ensure adherence to pre-agreed strategies • Ensure that costs put forward by operational departments are reasonable and approved for use • Able to organise and lead effective presentations • Competent at championing prospects and gaining agreement of stakeholders

Required Qualifications / experience: • Degree/HNC/HND qualified in Engineering, Scientific or Commercial discipline alternatively, candidates with significant appropriate experience may be considered • Proven Business Development experience and achievement • Experience within the Nuclear sector is preferred but not essential • Experience needs to be from an Engineering project environment
