1-on-1 Tutors Needed in Paramount; $17.50-20.00/Hr (Paramount)

A tutoring company is currently seeking tutors in various parts of Paramount to tutor K-12 students in English Language Arts or Math. Our company's proprietary educational approach blends live (face-to-face) instruction with high-quality online resources and learning activities. Tutors will be tutoring students on a 1-on-1 basis using laptop/tablet computers provided by our company. Tutoring sessions take place at student's home or at a preferred location, such as a local library or community center.

- MUST have at least a Bachelor's degree
- MUST be able to travel to low-income neighborhoods to tutor children
- MUST be able to pass fingerprint/background checks with the DOJ and FBI
- MUST be able to provide proof of a current TB Test (within past 4 years)
- MUST be able to commit for at least 6 months.
- MUST have a car or a reliable means of transportation
- MUST be able to travel to the student's home or local library/community center to tutor
- Have consistent access to the internet
- Be able to follow directions
- Be very organized with necessary paper works.
- Enjoy working with children from low-income families
- Have strong communication skills, and are committed to educating and motivating young students.
[Note: You DO NOT need to have your own laptop/tablet computer in order to tutor our students; our students will be provided with computers!]

No previous tutoring or teaching experience is required, although it's helpful. BILINGUAL (SPANISH/ENGLISH) IS A BIG PLUS, but not mandatory. Candidates who are able to tutor Special Ed. and/or high school level math are also highly needed. Current teachers or substitute teachers are welcome to apply!

Tutoring sessions are usually available after school on weekdays, and anytime on weekends. Tutors can choose their own flexible tutoring schedules, as well as the geographical area(s) of tutoring sessions (which usually take place near tutor's home, work, or school!), and work with the same students on a weekly basis. Tutoring sessions are available to start immediately!

$17.50-20.00/Hr starting for 1-on-1 tutoring with laptop computer. Average tutors can expect between 5 to 30 hours of tutoring a week. (You do not need to have your own laptop/tablet computer in order to tutor our students; but you may choose to use your own computer during tutoring if you prefer!)

We offer tutoring for students who qualify for Supplemental Educational Services through the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) program. We provide a professional, team environment designed to help you succeed with your students. A thorough orientation and ongoing support are provided so that you have guidance every step of the way. We also take the time to match you with great students who need your help the most!

Position Description:

All tutoring takes place in a one-on-one learning environment typically at the student's home or at a preferred location, such as a public library. Tutors work with same students on a weekly basis.

Part-Time/Flexible Hours - each tutor sets his or her own schedule based upon the needs of the children, and typically work anywhere from 10-30 hours a week; the amount of hours per week depends on the tutor's schedule, the number of students they’re tutoring, and what subjects they can tutor. Even if you only tutor 2 hours a day, 7 days a week, that’s working only 14 hours a week, and you can earn $952/month!

We have opportunities available in several locations and can provide tutoring opportunities in the city you live, work, or go to school in; whichever is the most convenient for you. Most tutoring sessions take place Monday-Friday between the hours of 4:00pm and 9:00pm and last around 2 hours. Weekend tutoring hours can also be arranged with students at various times.
