Process Technologist

Our client is one of the largest independent crude oil and natural gas producers in the world. They seek with immediate effect a Process Engineer to be based in a permanent role in Aberdeen.
As Process Engineer you will develop mid and long term strategies relevant to sustaining mature operated assets. You will generate ideas and identify opportunities to increase the value of the Clients facilities as well as screen, study, optimise and define opportunities so they can be handed over as technically and economically robust projects for implementation. As Process Engineer you will provide engineering design, technical support and technical advice services for Client's production, and operations departments.


Key Responsibilities will be to:


Identify, study and screen opportunities. Select, optimise and define preferred option and demonstrate selected option is robust and economic. When required manage third party external consultants/contractors to meet technical and schedule objectives. Progress project to BoD Rev A (Issued For Comment) stage, and facilitate effective handover to Developments or Operations for FEED and Execution project phases (Select & Design gates)
Proactively work independently and with other |Company's disciplines to generate ideas and identify value adding potential brownfield subsea and topsides facilities investment opportunities; support other Company's disciplines by conducting feasibility work for greenfield projects.


Assist in the development of Facilities LoF Plans for all Company's assets.


Prepare scope of work, solicit proposals, managing engineering studies and ensure study budgets/schedules are met.


Contribute to budget cycle in terms of defined conceptual engineering study work and defined projects.


Following handover of projects to Developments or Operations, monitor project progress through Describe and Select phases to ensure continuing alignment with original design intent.


Provide ad-hoc operations support to Company's leased assets.


Travel offshore/onshore to Client's North Sea and/or West Africa assets may be required to support data gathering, fact finding and effective communications.
You'll ideally be qualified to degree or equivalent level in an Engineering or relevant discipline, with previous work experience in the Oil & Gas industry. You'll ideally have working knowledge of Oracle, Microsoft Project and Maximo. You'll ideally have experience of topside processing and utilities systems and knowledge of HYSYS. You'll also ideally have an offshore survival certificate.

Technologist Production / Drilling Operations

Objectives of the job


Implement technologies to expand Client’s expertise in drilling and production operations. This is in line with the company's long term technology strategy. Our target is to improve technology skills, thereby strengthening our competitive position as preferred E&P partner for world wide E&P activities.


The incumbent will take an active role in pushing optimized technologies into the organization. This will require intense cooperation with Clients subsidiary ( a chemical manufacturer and Clients operating and new business units, and service industry.


Main duties and responsibilities


Prepare, promote and support deployment of new, optimized technologies in the area of production operations, fraccing, work over/drilling activities, and other comparable production and drilling technologies, in particular related to EOR.Prepare proper cost, time and resource planning for proposed activities.Execute new technology projects in project manager function.Liaise effectively with functional departments, R&D department and operating units to ensure appropriate staffing and activity levels.Provide advice to New Business Unit in the evaluation and possible acquisition of assets with potential for optimized technology development.Assist in communication of progress made with technology deployment to management and company staff.Adhere to company policies and procedures, in particular where HSE and project approval processes are concerned.Administration/support to corporate Technology Plan


Education


Internationally recognized university education in Engineering


Key skills


Expert in one or more and competent in the following skill areas:Project Management (time/resource planning, decision-based work planning, etc.)Production and drilling OperationsAdequate Reservoir Management (production/recovery optimization, field development, etc.)Asset Management (interdisciplinary business approach, petroleum contracts, etc.)Production Engineering (separation technology, production measurement, etc.)


Knowledge Requirements


Good understanding in production/operations related issues.Good understanding of E&P economics.Good understanding of project management tools and techniques.

Leadership: Display vision, creativity, pragmatism and results-focus to move team and organization into novel business areasTechnology Deployment: Good affinity with technology developmentsHSE responsibility: Takes responsibility for HSE issues associated within his/her working area


Additional requirements


Fluent English, written and spoken. Preferably German language skills, or the willingness to learn German.


Experience


Experience in E&P business or related jobs (>3 years).
