Busy West Los Angeles Homecare Pharmacy has an immediate opening for a pharmacy technician. Successful candidates should have
1) Minimum of 2 years working experience as a licensed pharmacy technician, preferably in a clinical environment. But we will also consider a solid retail background.
2) Great phone skills
3) Familiarity with spreadsheet programs

Description:
Job Title - Pharmacy Technician

Key Accountabilities

-Inventories study concomitant medications.
-Maintains and creates, as necessary, medication dispensing and return logs.
-Creates protocol specific pharmacy documents such as medication labels, accountability logs and compounding manuals.
-Prepares unit dose study medication under the direct supervision of the Research Scientist/Research Pharmacist.
-Extemporaneously compounds medication under the direct supervision of the Research Scientist/Research Pharmacist.
-Maintains storage space for study medication.
-Maintains study medication at its appropriate temperature and humidity.
-Monitors pharmacy environmental variables such as temperature and humidity via Rees Scientific Monitoring System (or manually).
-Coordinates and assists with interim monitoring visits as well as study close out visits.
-Ships study medication back to pharmaceutical sponsor company upon closure of study.
-Coordinates medication destruction with vendor.
-Maintains drug supply for applicable crash carts as well as various medication kits.
-Maintains and orders supplies/medications for the Pharmacy.
-Adheres to corporate training requirements.
-Trains and mentors other staff members as requested.
-All other duties as assigned.
