<> We are currently seeking an Arborist Technician Supervisor/ Estimator, this position is responsible for the assignment and supervision of a crew of arborist technicians responsible for the maintenance and removal of trees and other vegetation. The essential functions of this position include but are not limited to: Maintaining records of work activity, plans, assigns and or schedules a crew of arborist technicians engaging in pruning and lelling trees and limbs, trimming trees etc. Supervises and evaluates the performance of subordinates, handles disciplinary issues; appraising condition of trees, especially with regard to public safety; conducts safety training and briefings and ensures compliance with safety standards; supervising use, repair and maintenance of various equipment such as rigging, aerial boom trucks, and power tools; order supplies and equipment; ensuring trees pruned meet departmental standards; directing methods and procedures used in pruning trees and other vegetation, involving hazards to employees and public safety; occasionally participates in prunng work, requiring considerable physical effort and manual dexterity with exposure to accident and injuury hazards and disagreeable elements and working conditions; attending public meetings and investigating complaints, requests and calls concerning city-owned trees.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
<>1. Four(4) years of verifiable experience as an arborist technician; AND
<>2. Possession of a valid California Driver's license with no restrictions; AND
<>3.Ability to climb trees of considerable height and remove unwanted limbs or tops of trees.

DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
<> 1. ISA Certified Arborist (International Society of Arboriculture)
<> 2. Previous supervisory experience

Job Role

My client, a Built Asset Consultancy with experience in the Oil, Gas and Petrochemical sectors, has long term contracts to provide skilled Project Services and Contracts and Procurement Professionals globally to major International Oil Companies. We are currently seeking experienced Cost Estimating professionals at all levels for long and short term assignments on major upstream and downstream projects.

Cost Estimator - Aberdeen, UK

Responsibilities

The principal accountabilities of this position include, but are not limited to the following:

· Methodologies and tools for Cost Estimates- Utilise cost methodologies and tools to produce cost estimates. Incorporate project complexity factors into project estimates and assemble key input data such as project objectives, scope and economic analysis. Formulate and validate methodologies for deriving quantities from design parameters. Perform uncertainty analysis and sensitivities on cost estimates, reflecting analysis of project risks. Manage reviews and audits of cost estimates. Benchmark against historical performance, industry norms and established KPIs.

· Assess prospect scope and main components to develop consistent "building block" estimates (Type-2) for each concept under consideration. Utilise Technical, Economical, Commercial, Organisational & Political (TECOP) profile to establish appropriate deterministic cost contingency.

· Translate the identified project scope and engineering deliverables into the estimate of capital expenditure costs for design, procurement, construction, installation, commissioning and start-up of the hardware elements (Type-3). Estimate composed of detailed MTOs matched with detailed pricing and construction unit hours. Identify areas of uncertainty and apply appropriate allowances.

· Development of detailed project cost estimate (Type-4). Incorporation of project actuals to date and detailed MTOs matched with detailed pricing and construction unit hours for to-go costs.

· Develop Estimate Basis to document how estimate was developed.

Skills / Experience Required

Engineering Degree and/or Certification as a Cost Estimator or equivalent experience

Extensive industry experience in estimating positions in Oil and Gas

Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills

Fully versed with Cost Estimating Tools

Cost Estimator - Houston, Texas

Responsibilities

This position is specifically for ON SHORE pipelines. It is essential all candidates have significant experience estimating projects in this field.

§ Deliver consistent but appropriate cost management structures for major, complex projects.

§ Roll-out of the emerging Company standard tools and processes, as appropriate for each project's life cycle development & execution phase.

§ Provide project management support in the development of cost breakdown structures (CBS) and their population from the estimate.

§ Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) and document Cost Time and Resource (CTR) sheets for phased cost estimates in line with the Company guidance notes for agreement and sign-off by the CTR budget holders.

§ Provide project guidance for creation of accurate monthly cost reports, identifying variances from the plan on commitment, value of work done, changes and currency fluctuations against approved Authorities for Expenditure (AFEs).

§ Develop and implement the change management process for projects.

§ Provide guidance on trend analysis and the assessment of change impacts on cost.

§ Participate in peer reviews and other Assurance events.

§ Contribute to the development of junior staff through coaching and training in cost engineering practices, tools and techniques.

§ Maintain and promote realism in the cost forecasts in the face of commercial pressure and optimism from project teams.

§ Maintain consistency in cost bases through rigorous adherence to the controls processes.

§ Drive and raise awareness of the importance of developing the cost management structure in early project phases.

Skills / Experience Required

Engineering Degree and/or Certification as a Cost Engineer/Estimator or equivalent experience.
Minimum 6-12 years industry experience in lead cost engineering positions.
Excellent analytical, oral and written communication skills
Experience in managing small teams of junior personnel.
Fully versed with Cost Control principles and techniques.
Candidates must have the right to work in United States.

Our client is working closely with a large oil and gas operator. They now seek a Cost Estimator to join them in Houston, Texas. This role requires specific experience of On Shore Pipelines as a Cost Estimator. You will be responsible for consistent delivery and appropriate cost management structures for major and complex projects.
