Senior Machinery Engineer

Matchtech are looking for an experienced Machinery engineer to join an exciting and expanding organisation in Surrey.

Job Description and Qualifications

The specification, selection and design review of rotating machinery packages, in particular compressors, pumps and prime movers. The job requires technical knowledge of the equipment, the engineering of it into process plant and the management of suppliers.

Performing a Lead Machinery Engineer role for major projects and taking responsibility for the work of assigned Machinery Engineers.
Co-ordination of specialist design input to the design review process to ensure full integration of machinery into the plant design.
Input to global specifications and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS: Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Chartered Engineer. Experience in technical supervision of junior staff and contract engineers.
Experience with acoustic design.
Site experience with erection and commissioning or maintenance and operation of machines.
Thorough understanding of the design, selection application and performance aspects of compressors and pumps and possible drive arrangements.
Familiar with the cycle of process plant activities from conceptual design to start up.
Good communication skills and an astute commercial awareness.
Good knowledge of machinery suppliers and their product ranges.
Good PC skills.
