What is Huckleberry?

Huckleberry Caf? & Bakery is an upscale Santa Monica bakery, caf?, and catering operation, featuring delicious
homemade bread and pastries, organic rotisserie chicken, artisan sandwiches, daily farmer's market driven specials, and various specialty items for purchase on site and off.

Our commitment at Huckleberry is that everyone who walks through the door leaves feeling satisfied, nourished and inspired. Our menu consists of imaginative homespun dishes made from the highest quality ingredients. We use produce purchased from local farmers practicing sustainable agriculture, free-range and antibiotic-free meats and poultry, and fish caught in natural habitats by methods that preserve the waters from which they are fished.

Our service philosophy is based on the idea of "enlightened hospitality." We believe that a caf? in its truest sense is a family and that in order to provide the best possible experience for our guests it is imperative that we function at a high level behind the scenes. Our staff from top to bottom is treated and valued with the highest level of integrity, and in turn is expected to pass along this spirit to our guests. We pride ourselves on a staff that is informed but informal; equally enthusiastic about the food they serve as by the people they are serving.

The setting of Huckleberry is geared for efficient quick service without making the customer feel rushed. Our knowledgeable staff serves our food, bread, coffee, and retail items with a smile and leaves the newcomer and regular alike blissfully fulfilled and coming back for more.

Mission Statement

"Huckleberry is a family run, farmer's market inspired caf? and bakery. Everything we serve is made by hand each morning, starting at 4am! We use local produce, organic dairy, free-range eggs, and sustainably farmed meats and poultry."

Food:

? Huckleberry offers seasonal Farmer's Market inspired food. We use fresh local ingredients whenever possible, with an emphasis on simple yet imaginative preparation.

? At Huckleberry we place a high emphasis on quality ingredients. Much of our produce, meat and dairy is organic, and we try to get to know our suppliers as much as possible. We are health conscious, but not a health food restaurant.

? Huckleberry gets the majority of its produce from the Santa Monica farmer's market.

Service:

? Huckleberry is a quick service environment with a goal of making the customer feel like they are in a relaxed restaurant.
? While there are many different positions at Huckleberry, all of which are equal importance, when you are at work treat the whole restaurant as if it is your responsibility and never say "it is not my job".
? Staff are expected to be at work on time to their scheduled shifts and maintain a professional appearance and be friendly and welcoming to guests and co-workers at all times.
