Volunteers of America of Greater Los Angeles is a large, national not-for-profit organization founded in 1896. We provide a variety of social services to Los Angeles area communities such as Head Start programs, Upward Bound college prep programs, veterans' services, homeless shelters, low-income housing program as well as drug and alcohol rehabilitation. Our VS-65 program provides transitional housing and support services including benefits advocacy, permanent housing referrals and life skills classes for veterans over the age of 65.

Responsibilities:

The Lead Case Manager provides services to an assigned caseload of participants. The responsibilities are summarized as:

Conducts intakes including completion of bio-psycho-social assessmentsWorks with participants to develop individualized service plans with interim goals; conducts regular meetings to assess and document progressProvides one-on-one counseling with participants; provides individualized life skills and financial educationMaintains lists of resources for participants, researching new resources as needed; provides referrals for participants; coordinates and/or provides transportation for participant and resident servicesFacilitates cognitive-behavioral, recovery dynamics and life skills groupsMaintains all paperwork and required documentation, including participant database; documents resident behaviors, incidents, and complaints

Requirements:

Experience in adult case management preferredValid California drivers license and clean driving recordProficiency with Microsoft OfficeEffective written and oral communications skills

Additional Requirements:

U. S. Veteran strongly preferred; family members of veterans encouraged to applyMaster's degree in psychology or social work preferredFamiliarity with military culture a plus
