A lead geologist is required for the London office of a leading global operator to work within their New Ventures Exploration team.
It is an exciting position for a well-known Oil Company. Primarily you will be charged with increasing the company's portfolio of drillable, globally competitive opportunities by identifying and acquiring new inventory through the licence rounds, farm-ins &/or trades.
Key Responsibilities
*Conduct play fairway mapping in preparation for forward licence rounds
*Identify & mature globally competitive growth opportunities and bring forward justified recommendations
*Secure quality contributions to application documents that distinguish this company from competitors
*Apply regional understanding to discussions with partners to influence work programs
The successful candidate will be educated to Masters level and have a proven ability to generate globally competitive inventory, with track-record of generating ideas and maturing them through to lead and prospect status for investment decisions. The ability to appropriately distinguish and characterise inventory through to risk & resource ranges, strong 2D seismic interpretation & visualisation experience, and ability to work with poor quality data. Finally a working knowledge of sequence stratigraphic principle & ability to incorporate those interpretations in play fairway mapping objectives within clastic environments, i.e. deep water, shallow marine & fluvio-deltaic environments.
