KEY PURPOSE
Working at the largest airport in Afghanistan with successful candidate will be working under the supervision of the Crew Commander completing all aspects of airfield and/or structural fire fighting across the base.
Please note this is only a 4 month contract
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
-Drive and operates fire fighting apparatus, removes personnel from an area of high risk to an area of relative safety, executes fire extinguishing procedures
-Provides Advanced First Aid and CPR to the injured, supervises the return of equipment to a state of normal stand-by readiness after every use supervises and participates in required fire fighting training activities
-Maintains a physical fitness standard as required by Fire Services policy
-Supervises and participates in Fire Prevention and Life Safety inspections
-Supervises and conducts training for non-fire fighting personnel and various organized groups; -Supervises and conducts fire inspections; supervise and/or carry out the inspection, testing and maintenance of all fixed or portable extinguishing or detection systems, fire apparatus, water distribution systems, as well all hand portable fire fighting equipment, life safety equipment and fire fighting vehicles
-Maintains a high level of cooperation between peers, subordinates and supervisors;
QUALIFICATIONS
-Valid Driving License
-Fire Fighter
-Fire Apparatus Driver/Operator or Equivalent
-HAZMAT Awareness, Operator, Technician or Equivalent
-NFPA 1003: Airport Fire-fighter/ARFF Driver operator or Equivalent;
-NFPA 1021: Fire Officer I/II or Equivalent
-NFPA 1031: Fire Inspector Level I/II or Equivalent
-NFPA 1041: Fire Service Instructor I/II or Equivalent List
EXPERIENCE/COMPETENCE
3 year's Supervisory experience in an airfield and/or structural fire fighting operations
Ability to obtain and retain a NATO Secret Clearance
